NO CHEESE and NO BACON?!?! Then I could only go for a very-brief visit to Israel. I would never be able to live there. I would just miss bacon and cheese...TOO MUCH!!! You can have all the cheese you want - just not with meat. I get cheese (only) pizzas all the time and they're usually very thick (with cheese, tomato sauce) which is quite delicious. I never knew how good a very thick cheese topping on a pizza could be! P.S. If you go to very secular parts of Israel, I'm pretty sure you can get cheese with meat, though. It's not the entire country that sticks to being strictly kosher although some places try to be vaguely kosher without being certified as such. I think some places just give it up and put cheese on meat. I think so, anyway. I have had kosher pizza (in America) and if you think that is what pizza should taste like, then I feel so sorry for you. I was the worst pizza I have ever tasted. Burnt Tombstone was more edible.

If you haven't tried the best Kosher pizza in Israel, then you have no reason to be a jerk about it.

I wasn't being a jerk or being disrespectful, just making an observation based in what I have experienced. I didn't say all kosher pizza sucks, just the one I tried. Which, interestingly the people who ordered it love. Why can't America get the recipe for kosher pizza from Israel?

I went with cheeseburger. Bacon is usually a nice addition, but a lot of the burgers I get and make don't have it, so I don't need it.

I guess you're just too stupid to know that all pizzas in the world aren't identical if they have the same general ingredients. There is more than one cheese pizza in the world. Huge surprise to you.

So you have to be a jerk back? How mature of you. Come to Grimaldi's (Patsy's) under he Brooklyn bridge and taste real pizza.

Take it to the Politics Board. Everybody here is allowed to like the food that they happen to like. You can't wage war against the pizza I like here, especially without even tasting it. Each restaurant tends to have its own style anyway (except for chains like Pizza Hut). Israel is closer to Italy than you are (which is why both countries focus heavily on olive oil).

I don't know about Isreali pizza, but I've been to the place you're talking about and it blows. There's a little place on Broadway called Patzeria which I thought was way more flavorful. They also had a lasagna pizza that was surprisingly tasty.

In fact, Patsy/Grimaldi's used to be where the second one is now, that place is Juliana's. Patsy's is now in the white building on the corner. And you do know that there are like three Broadway streets in NYC, right?

Some of them I don't like at all. Some of them I really love! My favorites are the restaurants that serve pizza (among other things) because they tend to put so much cheese on top that it seems like an inch high. I'm not sure what kind of cheese it is, but it's so rich that I'd rather have this as a topping than anything else in the world. I've gotten to the point where I think other toppings are clutter. The inch-high thick cheese is incredible, in my view. I don't ask for anything else except maybe little pieces of cut tomatoes. It's just my style now and I'm lucky to be here to enjoy it! P.S. The inch-high cheese is creamy, by the way. It's not just a slab of cheese. It's amazing.

I found patzeria but just by the pics, it doesn't look appetizing. some of the 'regular' pies look like anything you would find in a regular dollar slice pizzeria. and I fail to understand how you an compare that type of pizzeria and pizza with grimaldi's. grimaldi's uses only wood fire. all the pies look the same [not with the toppings but they come out of the oven thin and crispy with parts of the edge crust a little burnt. with this place, like I said, run of them mill pizza. and just so that you know, THAT broadway begins at Union square which is east 17 street, then goes all the way up to the Bronx where the tip of Manhattan stops. then it goes all the way up through the Bronx and into Westchester and turns into route 9. it only becomes Albany post road when it reaches mount pleasant still being rt 9. and then it becomes rt 9 only in Ossining. and rt nine goes all the way up to champlain.

Hey, don't judge a book by its cover. I wouldn't compare it to Grimaldi's. What I'd compare to Grimaldi's is toast with some light marinara spread and a few blots of mozzerella. I don't know if the cows were on strike when I went, but I like my pizza dripping with cheese. Lol. By Time Square, go down the street where they're showing Hamilton. It's right across the street next to Hotel Edison. That should narrow it down.

Hey, don't judge a book by its cover. good advice.. eyes you.... if you said the last bit when you first commented on my recommendation I would have understood different strokes for different folks. but you didn't. you said it blows. like you're a middle schooler back in 1990. whatever. I told you I saw it. I was just commenting to you that you just can't say on broadway when talking about NYC, and especially not the manhattan broadway.

Now I know why the other poster called you a jerk. And yes, twist ending: I don't like Grimaldi's because of personal preferences. I was in fact not referring to the Guild of Objective Pizza Taste handbook. You got me. (and it doesn't even have to be "dripping cheese", but cheese should at least cover the pizza. I shouldn't be thinking a pizza is "dry". But again, that's just a stroke for this folk)

Went to a new restaurant today (new itself and new to me) in Israel and they served all kinds of dairy meals including pizza. So I tried their cheese pizza and it was wonderful! It didn't have an inch thick of cheese on it, but it was dripping cheese and wonderful!
