Exactly. Remember when I said they would have made Wonder Woman into something like Steel? I wasn't talking about the audience. Steel was typical studio BS politics. Like Batman and Robin. The problem is not the concept or audience acceptance, but the studio management and the decisions they make. Always has been. The difference now is that the big media companies wanted to have "warrior women leader" messages in their media--since they most surely thought someone else would be president now.

About the studio thing, we are agreeing, you know. And warrior women leader wasn't really a message since the island was all women. And she wasn't really a leader when she left the island because she kept pouting when she didn't get her way. When they told her she couldn't do something she always made this "But whyyyyyyy?" face. That would have been the total opposite message to send. And another name that I just thought of that would have been Wonder Woman is Angelina Jolie. She wasn't at Gone in 60 Seconds levels yet, but Hackers was kinda close to it.

They aren't even competent to do propaganda properly.

Whenever Tilda is in a movie 9 times out of 10 the character is suppose to be androgynous. And I think they used a female actress because if they were going to anger people about not making him Tibetan, they were going to go all out. And I don't know about Atomic Blonde. I didn't see it because I figured out the surprise from seeing the actors in the trailers. Charlize is a spy and McAvoy is her ally? He's going to betray her. Yes, I know John Goodman is in the movie also, but he's not as big as James at the moment. And that's too close to Bourne... Unless...

I don't think the Ancient One was really suppose to be a man or woman at that point. That's why they used Tilda Swinton. The media said a middle aged woman was playing the role. That is the propaganda right there. They had every reason to make him an asian man or even woman. They chose an older white woman for political reasons. It isn't about marketing since the media companies have more money than some countries--so making money is a secondary consideration. Movies are only a tiny part of a corporations overall assets. And that is precisely why they should be broken up or much smaller companies get a share of the audience so there is variety again. It's a win win for everyone except the corporation executives but who cares about them?

They chose an older white woman for political reasons. Once again, you are spouting idiotic nonsense based on your insecure delusions rather than any kind of objective reality. There is no possible way changing the gender and race of a character no one in the audience knew about was going to have any kind of political effect. Nobody operating in the movie business is a stupid as you and would think this way. Tildon was chosen because they wanted another actor of high clout and caliber. It is as simple as that. Just try and find one scrap of evidence which contradicts this thesis. I dare you. (Don't worry, I know you won't and can't. All you can do is make weird comments about diapers, another sign of your complete lack of maturity and normal cognitive capacity.)

China is not on good terms with Tibet. So what they did was go with reincarnation. The Ancient One was many different races in the movie. The last one was played by an androgynous white woman.

Yeah I will find it in the mainstream media. Oh, that's right--you just get your "information" from fellow lunatics who are as averse to verifiable, objective reality as you are. Like the place you quoted from in the politics board a couple weeks ago that consisted of a series of quickly exposed lies. It was hilarious watching you get your ass handed to you by everyone there.

On Collider“James Cameron’s inability to understand what Wonder Woman is, or stands for, to women all over the world is unsurprising as, though he is a great filmmaker, he is not a woman. Strong women are great. His praise of my film Monster, and our portrayal of a strong yet damaged woman was so appreciated. But if women have to always be hard, tough and troubled to be strong, and we aren’t free to be multidimensional or celebrate an icon of women everywhere because she is attractive and loving, then we haven’t come very far have we. I believe women can and should be EVERYTHING just like male lead characters should be. There is no right and wrong kind of powerful woman. And the massive female audience who made the film a hit it is, can surely choose and judge their own icons of progress.”Well said, Jenkins. Well said. Yeah, this could hurt Avatar 2

Yeah, this could hurt Avatar 2 Speaking of that massive female audience. Has anyone seen a break down of the theater audience for Wonder Woman between male and female and also a comparison to the same data for other superhero movies? If you have a link to that info, I would be interested to see it.

Has anyone seen a break down of the theater audience for Wonder Woman between male and female and also a comparison to the same data for other superhero movies? If you have a link to that info, I would be interested to see it. I read a breakdown several weeks ago. The audience for most superhero movies is usually about 62% males to 38% females. Wonder Woman is the first superhero movie with an audience in which females outnumbered males (52% to 48%). Wonder Woman also had a large percentage from older viewers. Those 2 groups (female viewers and older viewers) usually don't watch superhero movies, but they turned out in large numbers to watch Wonder Woman, which is a big reason why Wonder Woman exceeded all projections and became the #1 movie of the summer. what Ever seen Constantine? Gabriel is suppose to be a male character with feminine qualities. i have, as it happens. assuming we are to take any of the film's interpretations of the mythos as correlating to the comic in any way, are you suggesting that the role comprises 9/10 of her career?
