Hard to believe this Sci-fi action satire masterpiece is 30 this year.

Great film!
2 is pretty good.
3 is pretty lame.
Remake is garbage.

I like it a lot. I give it an 8/10.
As for the others, the second one was decent, the third was pretty stupid and I never got to finish the remake, but only because it was at a wrong time. I might plan on watching all the movies again since I haven't seen them for awhile as well as the remake in full-length.

Great film! 2 is pretty good. 3 is pretty lame. Remake is garbage. Oh come on the remake isn't that bad. It's certainly not good, but you have to admit the scene in the lab where they are showing what's left of him and it's only his hand and his heart and his head is pretty heartbreaking. The remake has great moments, but I agree they weren't enough to save the movie. I enjoy it,but it's not as rewatchable as I thought.

in short... it's within my Top 108 movies in general. it's my #1 movie from that director (with Showgirls (1995)(7/10) being the only other movie really worth mentioning from that director). 7.5-8/10 spooner5020the remake is basically watchable but forgettable unlike the 1987 movie which stands out.

It's aged very well. The remake already looked dated when I saw it on Netflix.

Love it! One of my favorite movies. Verhoeven can do no wrong to me because of it.
2 was a weird ride, but I liked it. Same director (Irvin Kershner) as "Empire Strikes Back" for anyone who didn't know...
3 was awful.
The TV mini-series had some interesting ideas, but was pretty shoddy.
By this point they had made Robocop kind of hero for kids, with plenty of action figures. I always thought this was strange given the brutal and heavily adult nature of the first movie.
The remake only got one thing right for me. Michael Keaton's character was perfect. The scene in the beginning with them reviewing potential candidates had a twistedness that had me excited. Once I saw Robo with a human hand, it lost me though. I wish they never would have touched it though...the original was just one of 'those' classics.

One of the best ever. They don't make 'em like that anymore. The recent (already forgotten) Marvel-ed down Robo-reboot serves as a reminder.

Yup, 30 years later and Robocop is still a timeless classic. Definitely a thinking-person's action movie. It's satire on urban decay and capitalism is just as relevant today.
I have not seen the remake, and you couldn't even pay me to see it at any price!

It's a really good movie - though the ultra-violence was a bit of a turn-off for me personally.

I am what they call a repeat offender. I repeat, I will offend again!
At the time the violence was shocking-Murphy's execution in particular, but it seemed appropriate given how little we got to know the character (as Verhoeven said). As an R-rated comic book movie it did kick ass though and puts to shame so many recent comic book movies in how it choreographed the action scenes (Ed-209 and the cocaine factory shoot out).
