I used to sniff my food before I'd eat it. It wasn't until I watched an episode of MASH where Hawkeye was doing the same thing that I saw how annoying it was. I haven't done it since in front of others.
I do the same. I smell both my food and my drink before I consume it.
I find the aromas of my food and drink add to the pleasure of their tastes and adds to my overall enjoyment.
If others don't like it, too bad for them.
Me too. When I eat alone, I love to take a big whiff of the food first before I eat it. I like your attitude of not caring what others think. I need to be that way more often.

All we're doing in taking the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy the food before we consume it.
If someone else prepared it, I hope they consider it as me showing appreciation for their effort and a compliment to their skills.

I don't answer texts immediately. I don't deny it. But that makes me a huge asshole amongst group of friends. They also don't answer their texts immediately by the way, so I honestly don't think I'm a worse culprit than any of them, but since one of them has a particularly big mouth about it I've become the patient zero of not answering texts in that social circle. My response to that became to not answer texts at all, which of course made it worse. Rant over.

At home or in the car, if I'm playing a song I enjoy, I put it on repeat and let it play again and again for hours at the time... In fact, I'm doing it right now.

While I see random average people resemble famous people here and there it's not something I see all of the time but just here and there. Yeah, but I would imagine we all probably have little things that, when around a certain person, could become annoying. but you can't please everyone. politicidalI think a lot of us are like that especially if it's a topic we don't find all that interesting. or... those people who talk WAYYY too much (especially when they start getting into topics your not all that interested in and keep on babbling) and just don't stop you just want out of the situation after a while. but speaking of this... that's kind of why I don't go on too long about some stuff I am more interested in because I realize it could easily bore a fair amount of people which is kind of why unless I know someone is interested in a certain subject I tend not to go on for too long. strategoThat would be quite annoying as I dislike when people sing in general because unless they are pretty good, which is unlikely since the common person's voice is not up to a passable standard, it would get annoying quickly. I suspect this is mainly a issue with kids/teenagers though in my estimations. p.s. I know this person no longer has a account but I had to reply anyways. marianne48I could see how that would be a issue because I think most people just assume, for good reason, that if you see a person here and there your not likely to forget them in general. so in your case it kinds of sucks because, apparently, you got a legitimate reason as you simply just don't honesty remember them, but it's pretty easy to see why people would assume your messing with them given I think most people just assume if you see a person here and there your probably going to at least remember you have seen them before. Matthew the SwordsmanI can't blame you here as if some boards don't see much traffic your sort of forced, when the occasion arises, to bring up that stuff in another part of the forums that see's at least moderate traffic.

Smelling food as part of the eating experience is fine, great, good … even complementary to the cook when accompanied with a positive look and the conveyance of the impression that the odor is a pleasant and appetizing one. Hawkeye Pierce, however, sniffed his food as if ascertaining whether it was spoiled or not and trying to figure out if it was safe to eat.

I tend to do this especially with food I'm not familiar with. I'm a picky eater and if it doesn't pass the other sense tests, then it doesn't get the final taste test.
