I don't take it to any automatic car wash. In NYC its hard to keep clean, but I found a high pressure self serve wash at a gas station. Very rare here, but it's great. Especially when you know how to handle the water pressure, you can get at least 90% of the dirt without using any brush. Then every 3 months I take it to a detailing place for a wash and hand wax. About 50 bucks, but worth it in my opinion. Plus I'm saving by not taking it to an auto car wash every week and paying $14

I wait until the police say my number plate is unreadable because of all the dirt, then I wipe the number plate with my sleeve.

Every few weeks in the summer months. Once a month the dreaded 3 hour clean. Wash, shammy, chrome polish, bumpers, rims, oil clean the faded black plastic trim on the truck, vacuum, dust, clean the glass, dust the vents, clean the steering wheel, etc.. 3 hours worth of work on a full size truck. Hate the winter months because you can't clean as much, and hate getting snow inside the truck. Also hate cleaning it off on snowy days.

Once every few weeks in the spring, summer and fall. I don't usually go in the winter as I try to wait until we're finished with snow for the season. I take it to this full service car wash. Been going to the same place since the 90s. They do a fabulous job there.

My parents take their car to the car wash on average once a month.
