Why? They can claim they are straight once transitioned, which I suspect most of them do. Yeah, once they're transitioned.

Yes, for the obvious reasons that they face exactly the same kind of bigotry and discrimination. Gays are different from lesbians, and they are both different from bisexuals. That doesn’t mean they can’t unify against the same forms of persecution. The same applies to transgender people.

Yeah, once they're transitioned. So what has that got to do with a homosexual movement then? I think the guy below me put it pretty well. If someone happens to be homosexual and lives as the opposite gender at the same time, are they not still homosexual?

Technically yes, but Transgender IS NOT a sexuality. Homosexuality is about embracing the homogenous aspect of ones own gender. It is not about denying or mutilating it. Okay, fair enough. I see what you’re saying.

Sexuality is sexuality and as a gay guy myself, personally, I don't care to be lumped into an alphabet soup or some movement, just because I am not one of them; those "normal" straights. It is not only condescending and bigoted, but it's also doing a disservice to their own so-called movement by compartmentalizing. T, is not even a sexuality. You’re missing the point. The movement is about advancement of equality for people who are legally discriminated against. That includes for reasons of sexual orientation and gender identity. If you don’t want to be included in that, then you don’t have to support the movement.
