Ben Affleck will be directing "Red Platoon" for Sony.
Casey Affleck will star.
Back when Casey said Ben wasn't doing "The Batman" was that him slipping because he knew he would be working on a project together with his brother?
Plus, doesn't WB like to keep their directors "In-House"? This situation is weird all around.

Well Ben sticking around as Batman is still possible since actors are needed for roughly 3 months, so he could do Batman and then just focus on this film. Not saying that's what'll happen, since there are other factors. Regarding the WB in house thing..... well remember that WB is focusing mainly on franchises as of late, meaning they're not producing as many other type of films.

Ben Affleck will be directing "Red Platoon" for Sony. Casey Affleck will star. Well, at least Ben will be directing his more talented brother again. There's been so much back and forth on whether Ben's going to be in The Batman or not that I honestly don't even care at this point. I'd wager that Casey knows his own brother, and with this younger Joker talk, I'm guessing they're planning on a...I don't know, "preboot"? Ala X-Men: First Class.

GOOD. Hope its true. I don't want to see Affleck's old bloated ass as Batman ever again . Go get Garrett Hedlund & start this thing from scratch . I trust Reeves

So basically the DCEU continues to collapse in on itself.

They need to make up their minds. Either sign Affleck to a huge multi-film contract or kick him out.
I'm so tired of conflicting reports coming out every week.

It was a big mistake from the start casting him in the 1st place. FTR, I do NOT hate Affleck as an actor but he is so wrong as Batman . WB should have went with someone much younger. You can't build a big franchise around some bloated alcoholic that is nearly 50.

That was the same sentiment towards RDJ being Iron Man and he was simply a year younger than as Ben Affleck when he took that role.

Yeah, but Robert Downey, jr. was nothing at the time he was cast as Ironman. Just a punchline comedians loved to make fun of as a go to "druggie hasbeen" joke. He worked because he was an unconventional choice who had something to prove. Ironman was a complete career resurrection for him, and so he has reason to actually want to secure contracts and stick around. Whereas Affleck already had his career resurrection as a director, and frankly, doesn't need Batman. He has no reason to stay on-board ship on the rocky straights, which is where the DCEU is right now.
