Back again, after downing Escobar and without the useless US agent Steve Murphy, picking up the story of what happened to the Colombia cartel, post Escobar. Local agent Javier Pena is back, thankfully. Netfix have released all episodes of the season, so if you fancy binging on "Drug Lords from S America"....
There is a spate of TV shows on this theme around. We had a series about El Chapo, the Mexican drug lord (very good series) and there is another one about Escobar's right-hand man John Jairo Velásquez (aka JJ), called Surviving Escobar. Also very good. What happened to Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy and John Wayne. All the good guys have gone.

Not sure if I'll go back to it unless I hear AMAZING things about it. I just finished watching Ozark, which I think you recommended in another thread, loved it, binged watched it this weekend (was up to about 5am last night watching it), not often I do that, sign of a good show. I'm a bit concerned about how they'll keep it going though in the later series, but definitely an excellent opening series. Shades of Breaking Bad there.

Narcos 3 is an excellent sequel to the Escobar story dealing with the Cali cartel, who want to go legit and decide to settle a few old scores meantime.
Ozark's fascination for me was the quality of performances of BAteman, Linney and Esai Morales as the "Baddie". I was also transfixed by the gay FBI agent. He's a piece of....

Gave up on Narcos after one season. Too dull.
Ozark is a generic study in blandness that still thinks the anti-hero drama is a fresh idea.

Gave up on Narcos after one season. Too dull. Ozark is a generic study in blandness that still thinks the anti-hero drama is a fresh idea. My only issue with Ozark was I felt the realism was a little bit off, people taking certain things in their stride a little bit too easily, and others characters doing things which just seemed more than a little bizarre or unlikely. I suppose you could say Breaking Bad was unrealistic as well, but I kinda felt most the actions and reactions to extraordinary circumstances felt organic (normally... well maybe not always). And I don't think it quite had the chemistry of BB either (no pun intended). But nothing wrong with doing an anti-hero drama in itself, in my book. But no one is going to beat BB for a long time (IMO)
