Anybody else in shock at all the empty seats at the Rose Bowl for UCLA / Texas A&M?
First game of the season?
The Rose Bowl should be rockin' - UCLA fans should be ashamed of themselves.

VT vs. WV will be good. First two possessions, both teams went 3 and out.

A&M is crushing UCLA, UCLA has no defense.
WVU/VT is a good game, defenses are playing great. I like this rivalry, both are good programs with great fanbases, they should play every year.

UCLA looks brutal. intrigued now because 'Bama plays there 2nd week in October a month from now......

Yes, very good game. VT finishes the first half ahead 10-7. They had trouble running the ball but had some great long passes and their defense played well. WV is good too. This may be the best game of this weekend, I think, or at least up there with the first half of FSU-Bama.

With what Virginia Tech showed tonight - a balanced and powerful team with excellent defense and a great dual-threat quarterback (not to forget Cam Philips, a solid receiver), and with FSU being out of contention with their quarterback lost for the season, Virginia Tech has a credible claim regarding the ACC title. At the very least I expect that they will easily win the Coastal division. I don't see Miami beating them, and much less Pittsburgh or North Carolina.
Then it will be them against Clemson (or less likely Louisville) for the ACC title.
It's too early to predict after one game, but I'm quite impressed with this team. They had a couple of hiccups, probably just being nervous with a rivalry game in a huge sold-out NFL stadium - lots of false starts in the red zone and two missed field goals from under 30 yards - but otherwise, they had a superb game against a very good team. As the first college game of his career, Jackson was an exceptional quarterback.

Good picks. I'd go with the same on all of them. Wow, I was about to say "except UCLA" because last I checked they were losing badly, but then I checked the score and they won 45-44! Must have been a hell of a game as well. If I knew I'd have watched both on split screen. Georgia Tech beating Tennessee is a controversial pick. ESPN gives Tennessee a 68.1% chance versus 31.9% for GT. The line is closer, -3.5 for Tennessee.
