Good picks. I'd go with the same on all of them. Wow, I was about to say "except UCLA" because last I checked they were losing badly, but then I checked the score and they won 45-44! Must have been a hell of a game as well. If I knew I'd have watched both on split screen. Georgia Tech beating Tennessee is a controversial pick. ESPN gives Tennessee a 68.1% chance versus 31.9% for GT. The line is closer, -3.5 for Tennessee. I give them a 59.9933% chance of beating them.

Best game of Week 1, VT and WV has been a blast! Well, except for that 34-point comeback in Pasadena...

How well is Tennessee ready for the triple option? They'll only face it once this year I'm sure it's not a high priority.
If you're not ready for it, look out.

Why did I go to bed early A&M's O-Line was pushing them all over the field in the first half and they were running all over them.

Best game of Week 1, VT and WV has been a blast! Well, except for that 34-point comeback in Pasadena... Like I mentioned, when I posted that, I was unaware of what was happening in Pasadena. At one point during the VT-WV game I learned that Texas A&M was crushing UCLA badly and lost all interest in that game given that when I don't support any of the teams, I won't watch a lopsided game. So, I kept watching exclusively the VT-WV game, and only learned of the UCLA comeback much later. Otherwise I'd have watched both games on split screen.

I don't think anybody could blame anybody for losing interest in that game - it was just pure domination in the first half - like men against boys - being a sports fan - we've all been there though - gone to bed early and wondered to ourselves - what is the final result going to be when we wake up? That being said I was in shock to see what happened. Tale of 2 halves. What does that do to A&M's psyche for the rest of the year?

"What does that do to A&M's psyche for the rest of the year?" Nothing good, LOL. After all, this was the second biggest collapse in NCAAF history, a stat you don't want your team to be known for. They were only one point behind the biggest comeback, a 35-point deficit erased by Michigan State in 2006 versus Northwestern, to beat them 41-38. Northwestern was ahead 38-3 with 9:54 left in the third quarter. Given that UCLA had 5:44 fewer minutes to erase the deficit, one can arguably say that this *was* the biggest comeback in history. It seems harder to erase a 34-point deficit in 19 minutes as opposed to a 35-point deficit in 25 minutes, if you factor in how many points per minute you'll need to accomplish. That's about 1.84 points per minute for UCLA versus 1.4 points per minute for Michigan State. Even if you factor in that Michigan State went a bit above what they needed and scored 38 points in that interval it still gives you an average of 1.52 ppm. Also, the Michigan State-Northwestern game was marred by the fact that neither team was any good and they both finished 4-8 that season, while Texas A&M and UCLA are decent teams. Another interesting thing is that Texas A&M has collapsed late in the last three seasons, with starts of 6-0, 5-0, and 5-0; then they fumbled in November in all three seasons, putting Kevin Sumlin on the hot seat. So now they didn't wait for November to stink up the place. It's gotta hurt. The largest comeback in NFL history was 32 points, by the Bills against the Houston Oilers, on January 3, 1993. They needed overtime to win, though. So, given the points-per-minute calculation I did above, those lucky enough to have watched this game (unfortunately I'm not included) may have witnessed the biggest comeback in the sport of high-level football, including the top division of the NCAAF and the NFL. Good stuff.

Good stuff. And here I went to bed thinking next month at Kyle field they had a shot a 'Bama. Who knows - their run game did look dominant in the first half - 'Bama does have a tremendous defense. didn't look at the week before games to see if this may be a 'catch' game so to speak for 'Bama where they're caught off guard and looking ahead to the next weeks opponent..... hopefully they rebound. good news for PAC-12 fans too .....USC, Cal, Stanford, Washington games (they've gotta be on UCLA's schedule right?) should be interesting
