A sequel to a maligned film in a "hated" franchise has surpassed a critically acclaimed film from a "beloved" franchise.
Congrats to Warner Bros. and DC Films! What an astounding cinematic achievement! A total triumph for DC!

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Marvel and DC fans aren't getting along. Worthless pieces of shit like Dennis keep trying to stir the pot long after he single-handedly made it volatile again. Also, Civil War is still WAY ahead of it world wide, moron.

The only people who should feel bad are the Warner Bros. executives who kept Wonder Woman in development hell for so long. Despite all of their claims it turns out the world was ready to embrace Wonder Woman.

I'm confused as to how making $300m more than WW is embarrassing Civil War.

DC films tend to be more successful in America, and MCU tends to be more successful overseas. Iron Man 318M Incredible Hulk 134M Iron Man 2 312M Thor 181M Captain America: The First Avenger 176M Thor 2 206M Cap 2 259M Hell ANT-MAN only made 180M Domestically, and that is with an ESTABLISHED MCU and Iron Man, Caps Shield, and THors hammer on the posters. Doctor Strange only made 232M Domestically. Civil War was essentially Avengers 2.5 and it made less than Wonder Woman by herself. A solo outing. Compare Wonder Woman to Cap 1, it's a blowout. Hell, Superman Returns made more than Ant-Man in 2006 with NO INFLATION, or 3d, or IMAX or IMAX 3d and it was boring af.

Hell, Superman Returns made more than Ant-Man in 2006 with NO INFLATION, or 3d, or IMAX or IMAX 3d and it was boring af. Wrong again, loser. Ant-Man was always going to be a tough sell on his first outing. Using him is meaningless. His second film will be a lot more successful now that he's won audiences over. Same with Doctor Strange. Oh, and neither film was boring. The only reason Wonder Woman made more is because of how belated her film is. People have been waiting for this movie for decades, and they finally got it. It had the catharsis effect on its side. Also, you don't get to use Wonder Woman against Captain America: Civil War, and Cap 3 WAS a solo outing no matter how much you try to claim otherwise. The film to compare against Civil War is BvS, so let's take a look at how much each one made domestically, since you didn't bring that up out of convenience. Batman v Superman Domestic: $330,360,194. Captain America: Civil War Domestic: $408,084,349 ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE! CAP KICKED SUPERMAN, BATMAN, AND WONDER WOMAN'S ASSES!! And Suicide Squad also made less than Civil War did domestically, so you can't even use that. Now let's see Ironman 3's domestic against Man of Steel!! Ironman 3: $409,013,994 Man of Steel: $291,045,518 HOW EMBARRASSING!! SO MUCH FOR YOUR "DC FILMS TEND TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL OVER HERE" NONSENSE! SO basically, ONE FILM out of out of four DCEU films did better than the recent MCU big hitters did, but only domestically, and you think you're justified in saying the DCEU is winning, somehow? You're an idiot. And just for good measure: Guardians of the Galaxy Domestic: $333,176,600 Suicide Squad Domestic: $325,100,054 MCU wins.

Because Wonder Woman single-handedly beat a movie with 90% of MCU's roster?

Avengers 623M Domestic with IMAX, 3D and IMAX 3D The Dark Knight 661M Domestic when adjusted for inflation. Way to go trying to use adjusted for inflation against a film's actual domestic gross. Domestic: The Avengers $623 million The Dark Knight $533 million Adjusted for inflation: The Avengers $683 million The Dark Knight $661 million Even if you adjust the inflation, The Avengers still wins. Sorry pal.

He totally did. You totally forgot to mention MCU's first and DCEU's first. Iron Man: $318,412,101 Man of Steel: $291,045,518 A Superman film in 2013 couldn't even come close to matching an Iron Man film back in 2008 when 3D was not a thing and Iron Man was considered a B-list character.
