Avengers 623M Domestic with IMAX, 3D and IMAX 3D The Dark Knight 661M Domestic when adjusted for inflation. Way to go trying to use adjusted for inflation against a film's actual domestic gross. Domestic: The Avengers $623 million The Dark Knight $533 million Adjusted for inflation: The Avengers $683 million The Dark Knight $661 million Even if you adjust the inflation, The Avengers still wins. Sorry pal. Nice try, but The Dark Knight didn't use IMAX 3D, or 3D and Avengers did. So if you adjust for that, The Dark Knight is at 690M

And don't you just love how this shit-for-brains ignored the reply where I point out that the DCEU films have been getting their asses handed to them domestically after he claimed Americans like DC more? He totally did. You totally forgot to mention MCU's first and DCEU's first. Iron Man: $318,412,101 Man of Steel: $291,045,518 A Superman film in 2013 couldn't even come close to matching an Iron Man film back in 2008 when 3D was not a thing and Iron Man was considered a B-list character. Awww... You didn't adjust their grosses... How can we be sure Ironman 1 outgrossed Man of Steel if we don't? Its fine that mello prefers the DCEU for whatever ungodly reason, but he seriously needs to stop pretending they're more popular or that he's the majority in any way, shape, or form.

You're fighting a losing battle here, buddy.

My point is in the US, DC films usually do better business.

So how come the MCU has the DCEU running scared? If the DC had such a firm superiority over them, why'd it take Man of Steel three years to a get sequel and how come that sequel got turned into a crossover flick? And how come Civil War kicked its ass despite being up against Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman? How come Ironman 3 beat Man of Steel? Hell, how come Man of Steel couldn't top Ironman 1 domestically? How come Suicide Squad didn't do as well as either Guardians film?

More people flocked to the theaters to see an Avengers film than a Batman film. It's like saying Kobe Bryant had the advantage of not going to college and that's why he has more points than Michael Jordan. Who cares? Also, $690 million? Where did you come up with number?

Bad comparison. A more valid comparison would be comparing scoring averages in the NBA today (with the 3-point line) to scoring averages in the NBA before there was a 3-point line. Naturally, the 3-point-line is going to boost scoring averages, just like 3D and IMAX 3D boost box office numbers.

The Nolan movies, which had artificial boosters, and two movies that existed before there was any real competition. It doesn't matter. My point is in the US, DC films usually do better business. They also usually cost more and use DC's big guns instead of more obscure characters, and their biggest successes needed external, artificial boosters to get people to watch (Dark Knight had Heath Ledger's you-know-what to protect it from critics and draw people).

WW's success was due to the artificial boosters though, not stuff intrinsic to the movie.
