I didn't know that. With the non-household products such as moving staircases and internal loudspeaker systems, it's easy for the origins of the commonly used terms to become obscured. But I no longer refer to loudspeaker systems as "tannoys" and will no longer refer to moving staircases as "escalators". So you're gonna be like "let's take the moving staircase" and "there's a really big moving staircase in that mall". LOL, that sounds ridiculous. I think I'll start using that phrase too. I used to wind my brother up all the time by referring to iPods, MP3 players, etc, as "music boxes". If I find that I'm speaking in error, I don't continue to make the same error. Perhaps it will seem rather awkward and strange, but I'm a very literal-minded person.
