First of all I can already tell you're a brainwashed liberal,second I support Trump because I don't support someone who deleted classified emails,and wants to let Isis in and let more attacks happen. And the fact is that Lawrence never said nor came close to saying what the OP says she did. The subject of the thread is whether she said that recent hurricane activity is punishment for the election of Trump. Did she or did she not say this? This is a matter of fact, not opinion, something a child interested in fact checking could confirm or dis-confirm. Yes, various online news outlets, only concerned with clicks rather than the truth, have picked up on this blatantly false meme, but it was originated and first disseminated from right wing sources. |

She talked about the real threat of human-created climate change (which was directly tied to the themes of the film she was promoting), then mentioned that the only real power we have collectively to fix it is by voting, then went back to talking about climate change. The only legitimate criticism you can make of her statement is that our buying power, not just voting, is also an important part of the equation. Other than that, there was nothing polarizing or dumb about anything she said. It is simply a fact that climate change is a real and existential threat to civilization as we know it, and it is also a fact that we just elected a President who is actively fighting means to prevent climate change. Speaking important truths is only "polarizing and dumb" to people who are actively in denial about objective reality. |
