As long as they Do have the proper liscensing to do those films, then what's the problem?

Me neither really.
But i also don`t see the point in them. If its book adaptation than i understand it. But apart from that they should rather make up new stories instead of using old once.

The problem is they rarely are ever good and are a long way away from the quality of the originals. They are somewhat lazy and rely on nostalgia to cover the lack of substance.
Jurassic park reboot Terminator Genysis Robocop Teenage ninja turtles Independence Day Alien franchise Die Hard
All examples off the top of my head which have had reboots or remakes from 80s/90s classic films.

Generally I don't think they are very good. the Thomas Crown affair is the only remake I can think of that I like better than the original.
