It's not just me, is it? Anyone else fascinated or like it when they wear throwbacks or other ones for certain occasions? It's a growing trend of wearing different ones for certain occasions.

I pay attention to it, but for my tastes, the trend in recent years towards more boring uniforms colors as default uniforms has been unfortunate. I like a variety of bright or unusual colors, patterns, busy designs, etc.
At least the boring defaults have been offset by some interesting alternates lately.

I do and I'm very old school. The the Red Sox/Penn State fan in me. I do love a good throwback, especially something unusual. Like when MLB teams wear Negro League throwbacks. I'm watching Pitt v. Penn State. They have referred a couple times to Pitt's yellow helmets as "throwbacks", but I never remember yellow helmets.

Mostly no. Unless it's jarring. The Steelers dressed as the Bees from SNL, or the dayglo blinding ones from the Thursday games last year.

Sure, casually.
I really like the NBA getting rid of home & away unis - teams will now choose whatever they want. I think the NFL is already there (i.e. beyond the Cowboys & Dolphins, if a team has a better record vs another, they'll wear whites at home*). NHL should go that route also.
However, MLB needs to slow the F down with their absurd uni schemes. Nickname unis was bush league, as are its stupid camo unis.

Uniforms are important to me. I can't get with a team if they look like garbage. As for throwbacks, I couldn't care less. I agree that the Color Rush uniforms were awful.

MLB would be better off trying series specific uni matchups. Instead, other than patriot long wkend touch-ups, we seem to literally just get random out of the blue reasonings.
If they want to try color rush style effects, dedicate entire 2-3-4 game series to them. Not 'come out this Thursday night for turn back the clock to 1983 uniform night' bs.

I have a passion for uniforms, logos, club colours - the whole shebang. In a variety of sports. In general, US sports get it right. The right mix of innovation with a nod towards history. I especially like Baseball and the 'monogram' logos of clubs like the Yankees, San Francisco and Detroit. Soccer uniforms and logos are all over the shop. Nike cannot produce a decent kit to save themselves, neither can Puma. A few clubs have 'updated' their logos for the digital age and they look fantastic. Arsenal and Man United spring to mind, and then the classic look of some clubs like AC Milan, Ajax and Hamburg which are so distinctive they don't even need words. I'm not a fan of the gimmicky uniforms though - the NFL is terrible in this regard, as is the NRL in Australia.

Have to admit, Seeing the LA Rams in the old LA Rams nearly all white unis dominate yesterday was sweet.

What did they call that abomination on Thursday night last year? Color burst of something like this? The players looked utterly ridiculous like some Oompa Loompas.
I'm not a great fan of throwbacks either but they are definitely lass bad than that color thingy.

More than the Roman Gabriel ones. 1967 Gabriel Rams were the first team I fell in love with. Beat the Packers in the next-to-last regular season game on a blocked punt. Finished tied with the Colts at 11-1-2 but got into the playoffs due to being 1-0-1 vs Baltimore. Disappointing 28-7 loss to the 9-4-1 Pack in the playoffs, who went on to win the ice bowl and coast over the Raiders in Super Bowl II. Rams actually went on to beat Cleveland 30-6 in the "Playoff Bowl," a consolation game.

Always partial to the powder blue with the white helmets and the uni number under the lighting bolt. The John Hadl look. The old AFL teams had awesome uniforms. New England with"Pat Patriot", Houston and the oil derrick , my Standing Buffalo, the still unchanged Chiefs and Raiders duds.., Denver Orange Crush jerseys.
