DC I blocked you months ago so I don't ever see your posts. I know you only want to talk about the US box office, but we're talking about the total here and not just limiting it to one country.

Yeah. And the only reason Wonder Woman wasn't a complete screw up like the rest of the DCEU movies was because they bottled out and copied the MCU formula. That's why it is hilarious to see DCEU zealots rave about a movie they would have attempted to shit all over if it was from the MCU. Wonder Woman didn't copy any MCU formula. The MCU formula would've been to have plenty of jokes and 1-liners during the No Man's Land scene, plenty of jokes and 1-liners of the injured soldiers with amputated limbs, and plenty of jokes and 1-liners about the women and children killed by the poisonous gas. Unlike MCU (which always treats war as a big joke), Wonder Woman did an excellent job of balancing the lighter moments with the more serious moments. That's something that MCU has never done in any of their 17 movies. Tell me of one MCU movie where they make jokes when surrounded by dead or dying people.

"Iconic" sounds good and they don't have much else they can say.

"Iconic" sounds good and they don't have much else they can say. I agree it's often used for good things but the word iconic could refer to anything noteworthy, like ancient ruins perhaps. They're iconic in many areas, but nobody wants to live in them.
And for DC characters when fans use the word iconic to describe them, it honestly makes me chuckle a bit that they want it to mean something positive, but to me all it sounds like they're saying is their characters are very old and tired.
Now I'll be the first to admit that they did a fantastic update with WW. I don't think that was the best WW movie possible by any means, as they went a little straight forward with it, but it was a solid foundation for a franchise. But Superman hasn't had a good film in decades because he's boring and I don't think it's possible to fix him. Is he iconic? yes. Does that mean anybody is particularly interested? no

Plenty of people are interested in Superman. He just hasn't necessarily had the right people making his films. All Star Superman was well received precisely because many people felt it did a great job of capturing what makes Superman what he is.

All Star Superman was well received precisely because many people felt it did a great job of capturing what makes Superman what he is. I really don't think they are to be honest. Most people just view him as a semi generic super hero, they already get his backstory, and they generally find the whole kryptonite/lex thing to be rather boring, but will show up because they expect a decent super hero film. But there's more love for Christopher Reeve than there is for the character.
And I'm not trolling, I honestly think people are over him and there isn't much you can do with the character to change that. Unlike Batman who has quite a few different interpretations people are ok with seeing.

Superman is a character who's survived as long as he did because he is viewed as representing the ideals of the superhero genre as a whole. Like Captain America on Marvel's side, Superman serves as the inspiration for his fellow superheroes, and for the audience at large. He's no more of a generic superhero than Captain America. Saying that people are over Superman is frankly a weak argument to make. People aren't over him. He just hasn't been receiving the kind of love that Batman has.

He's survived because people will deal with it but it's not really anybody's favorite.

Strangely enough, Zack Snyder is supposedly one of those people.

The best analogy I can give is a mcdonald's hamburger. If I'm starting a restaurant, yes that's a popular burger, but that sure isn't my goal or anything i'd look forward to or be particularly proud of.
