I'm still baffled that he wasn't at least nominated for Take Shelter. He was absolutely sensational in that film!
1. Take Shelter (by far his best performance imo)
2. Boardwalk Empire (not a film but still he was so good in this its tough to ignore)

The Night Before is a small role. Isn't he in Groundhog Day quite a bit? The night before he has quite a few scenes and his character is vital to the plots resolution, in groundhog day he has two small scenes which almost amount to nothing
I guess I was wrong about Groundhog Day. It's been a long time since I've seen it. I replaced Groundhog Day with The Woodsman. |

Recently re-watched 'The Runaways' in which he plays eccentric record producer Kim Fowley. Worth it just for this performance. Also enjoying him in the current "Waco" television series.
