I'm referring to surface beauty; I'm aware that many people, in and out of movies, have the "inner beauty" that is more important than physical appearance. My list of really gorgeous actresses are Dolores del Rio, Hedy Lamarr, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marilyn Monroe. But the movie stars of today seem so ordinary looking. In fact, many of them are quite plain in appearance, despite all the "nip-and-tuck". This is not to reflect on their acting ability (or lack thereof, ). It's just that there seems to be no head-turners today. The same is true of male actors; IMO, there are no Tyrone Powers, Cary Grants, or Paul Newmans any more. In fact, today's stars, with their "thug" whiskers and ugly tattoos are a major turn-off to me. I realize that beauty is subjective, but I'd like to see other posters' views as to what celebrities are beautiful.

Watching The Zookeeper's Wife just recently, I'd say Jessica Chastain is a safe bet for that sort of classical Hollywood beauty. Others I'd say include Eva Green, Scarlett Johansson, Marion Cotillard, and when they were younger back in the late 90s/early 2000s, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angelina Jolie (not that they're hideous now but that was definitely their peak).

Tyrone Power was only good looking before WW II(Son of Fury,Jesse James,In Old Chicago)---You might add Jeffrey Hunter Rock Hudson and Montgomery Clift(before he ruined his face in that car accident) also---Raquel Welch should be added also, ageless beauty--Young Joan Collins--Young Kelly LeBrock

I have always gone for the girl-next-door look rather than the "hot" actresses. Even though Jennifer Lawrence glams up nicely for the red carpet, she still has that GND attraction. Also, Shailene Woodley (who, if JLaw didn't exist would have all her major roles) and Emma Stone.

I was generalizing on the OP. You might also add Richard Chamberlain and David McCallum, even though their metier was mostly television.

I think a lot of actors and actresses are hot as fuck Could you name some, please? I'm too tired right now but basically the typical ones you'd find on a hot celebs list i guess, i don't really pay enough attention to celebs to remember many names.

Poppy Montgomery She's getting older but still a very attractive woman. I have to agree though, the younger actresses coming in seem fairly plain. One of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood in the old days had to have been Martha Vickers. Criminally underutilized. Fortunately she was in The Big Sleep with Bogart. Mickey Rooney obviously had fine taste in women. Who could forget Rita Hayworth though. My goodness, they definitely don't make them like that anymore. See her in Gilda.

There's several pretty actresses working today, but to me, they all seem to have an 'emptiness' about them, and the majority of them have horrible voices. (Vocal fry - look it up.) In my humble opinion, the only "modern" actress that captured the true beauty, mystique and glamour of the classic actresses would be from the late 90s, and she had one helluva sexy voice to match her looks, Sure, her off screen antics were off putting, but there's no denying her "animal magnetism" and massive star appeal when the cameras were rolling, even in the many bad films that she made.

Vegalyra, maybe Martha Vickers was underutilized because of a resemblance to Ann Sheridan? Just wondering.

What I was referring to in my OP was women so beautiful that even hetero females would exclaim, "Wow! Is she gorgeous!" I suppose the same thing might occur to hetero males regarding the actors mentioned on previous posts, but I doubt they would express it openy, for fear of being labeled.

I agree that Charlize Theron is stunningly beautiful!
In their prime, gals like Liz Taylor, Hedy Lamar, Simone Simon, Joan Crawford, Madeleine Carroll, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Kelly, Olivia DeHaviland, Gina Lolabridgida and Virna Lisi were all beauties...
An honorable mention goes to Mae West who exuded pure sexuality.
From TV, there was Barbara Nichols, Dorothy Provine and Joey Heatherton.
Every stock female dancer employed in Busby Berkeley musicals were all eye candy.

Charlize Theron's not exactly a Gorgon. George Clooney has a Cary Grant vibe about him.
