None. It seems like it is impossible to make a good video game movie. I think a good live action Mario Bros. movie would be near impossible to pull off. I think going the animated route would be the smartest movie. Wrong. A good video game movie is possible. Watch the fan made film Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist. It follows the games very well by respecting the property. It's just no one in Hollywood has figured it out if you follow the story and not make so many changes it can be good. Warcraft was possibly the closest thing to a good video game movie. I didn't say "It IS impossible". I said "It seems impossible." I have only seen the Hollywood movies and I am not much of a fan of video games in general (which I realize makes my opinion on the matter very bias). I did think Mortal Kombat (1995) was campy fun though. Most good screenwriters and directors likely don't want anything to do with video game movies, so that makes it pretty hard for a good one to be made.

It's not like anyone is holding a gun to the director's head and saying "YOU MAKE A VIDEO GAME MOVIE OR I SWEAR I'LL BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT!!!!! Duncan Jones actually wanted to make a Warcraft movie and payed close attention to the games.

There was a late DOS/early CD-ROM game produced by LucasArts in the 90's called "The Dig." It was a sci-fi story with puzzle-based gameplay. The voice acting was great (Robert Patrick as the lead) and it was just around the time where cutscenes had become do-able. This led to it being more of an interactive-movie (remember that buzzword?) at times.
Aside from that,
Red Dead Redemption Doom (give us a real try...throw some Event Horizon in there) Halo (don't know much about this universe beyond the first game, but I think it has legs) Resident Evil (base it off the RE2 game) The 7th Guest (anyone remember this game??)
And I think they could have a smash hit if they made a game based off of "Grand Theft Auto." It would have to keep the satire and over-the-top violence, but I think it could work in a "Deadpool" sort of way. The writing in those games is pretty good on its own, so I don't think it would take much to make a film out of it.

I have heard that Warcraft is pretty close to the video game but it seems most people were very bored by the movie. I never said anyone was making directors make video game movies. My point is that the reason good video game movies aren't made is because good directors don't want anything to do with them. All that leaves are directors that just want an easy paycheck or directors who aren't talented enough to pull it off.

Well when you say good directors do you mean directors like Duncan Jones or Justin Kurzel? Both have done great movies until Duncan did Warcraft and Justin did Assassin's Creed. I think the problem is the scripts. The writers of both movies wrote a lot of bad movies, but the directors should have been enough to save the movie and they weren't. It sounds like the directors need better scripts.

None. It seems like it is impossible to make a good video game movie. Ahhh. I don't think it would be too hard to make a 'Metroid' movie. There was a 'Metroid' movie in development over a decade ago but didn't go through 'cause of Hollywood's issues with Action movies with female leads at the time. Now we have had a successful 'Resident Evil' franchise I see no reason why they can't make 'Metroid' next. Ronda Rousey has even said she wants to play Samus. You're already kind of getting #1 and #8 respectively. Speaking of a pending VG movie, I liked to see that Sly Cooper animated movie come to proper fruition too. But based on what stefancrosscoe had suggested previously in the case of Rachet and Clank (didn't see that movie, heard it wasn't too good), Sly Cooper unfortunately may not seen the light on a silver screen. I think Overwatch could definitely work as an animated film. Maybe Crash Bandicoot too based on the earlier games. Thanks for letting me know. I knew about the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' movie but I wasn't sure if it was going through anymore 'cause I hadn't heard an update about it for quite some time. I am surprised they didn't make a movie of 'Sonic' years ago when the game series was really popular but maybe the 'Super Mario Bros' movie flopping turned them off doing it. There is a movie of 'Animal Crossing' but it was only released in Japan in Japanese.

And it'll be from the writer of the Smurfs and it's being made by Sony.

I haven't played video games in a very long time, though the ones that I did play when I was younger were mainly on the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64.
The Legend of Zelda (Surprised this hasn’t been made)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was my favourite game on the N64 (and probably my favourite game ever). I too am surprised it was never made into a movie (although I always imagined it'd work better as two movies - the first one with Kid Link, the second with Adult Link).
I was also curious to see a movie (or TV version) of Shadow Man.
There's probably others I'm forgetting, but those^ were the main two I always wanted to see movies of.
Perfect Dark
I wouldn't mind that one either. I quite enjoyed it (though I liked GoldenEye more, as it was my second most favourite game that I've played).
