I Know That It Has Already Been Posted On Here But Still, I Just Found Out The News!-------------------------------- That being said, I think that it is Freaking Awesome that She is Coming Back for this New " HALLOWEEN" Movie. They are of course going to have to explain how she survived her 'death' back in " HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION".

I heard this is a sequel to the original Halloween 2 and that they're ignoring Resurrection, H20, and all of the other sequels. I loved H20, so I'm kind of disappointed about that, but it's still cool she's coming back.

Well now then if it is going to be a Sequel to the original " HALLOWEEN II" then I wonder how they will explain how Michael Myers survived getting blown up at the end of that Movie ?

I don't know how I feel about a third continuity following Halloween II, but I suppose there's no other way of continuing the storyline of H20 without screwing up that film's ending (hear that, Resurrection?) Actually, if they really wanted to get my attention, they'd ignore all of the sequels including II. Meaning no brother/sister twist, no family curse period. Laurie is a stranger that Michael just happened to take an interest in. A good portion of Halloween fans didn't like that twist (including Carpenter who said he came up with it while drunk), so you'd think someone would have considered ignoring it in the last 36 years with all these different timelines.

This. I always hated the sister twist. If they are set on making it a sequel within the original set of movies it would make more sense to have it be a sequel to the original as they wouldn't have to worry about explaining how Myers survived the explosion. They could just have him escape into the night and then turn up 40 years later.

She should stop appearing in stupid movies! If she wan't to go back to the roots that made her famous is OK with me. She could do better than this!

If they must make another Halloween sequel, then I guess this is the best way to go.

As one who is less than enamoured with Halloween II, I'd completely support this idea. It would be great if they ignored everything after the original Halloween and went and used that as a starting point.

"Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18." Jamie Lee Curtis tweet - 9/15/17 As I mentioned elsewhere, I GUARANTEE you this will definitely NOT be the last we hear of "Halloween", and NOT be the last time Jamie Lee Curtis appears in the franchise (even if she gets "killed" in this version). Come 2028, they will be releasing yet another sequel to the franchise. How do I know this? 2028 will mark the 50th anniversary of the original release........anyone who knows ANYTHING at all about today's movie business knows that NO owner of a successful, or even semi-successful movie franchise, EVER lets a significant anniversary pass without the release of a new movie (or at the very least, a big-time, much-ballyhooed dvd/blu-ray multi-disc SPECIAL EDITION of the original film (or box set collection of all the previous films), complete with EXCITING new interviews with all the (significant) franchise cast and crew members, NEW featurettes, and other "New" stuff left over from the original releases they 'forgot' to use before, etc., etc.). So even though Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted that she is headed back to Haddonfield "one last time", when they call her up in 10 more years and offer her a BOATLOAD of cash to return to Haddonfield "one MORE last time", she WILL be there.......unless, of course, she dies (in real life) before then. Then they'll be forced to use scenes and film footage cut from this, or previous versions of her work to at least make it LOOK like she's in the new film (sad, but (probably) true)! Do I sound just a TAD cynical? Guilty as charged! SAVE FERRIS

They don't have to explain anything. Michael Myers has a supernatural ability to survive.

Happy to hear that she's coming back. I actually liked H20 and the ending where she confronts Michael!

As much as I didn't care much for sister twist, one good thing HII had going was that the Shape still randomly stalked and killed Alice. Rumor is although the screenwriters stated that it's a sequel to HII months back, that plan has changed since scoring Jamie Lee Curtis. Perhaps Laurie Strode may be the Loomis of the Halloween 2018.

Jaime Lee Curtis returning is awesome news and I am looking forward to it but I don't understand why they couldn't just ignore the events of 'Halloween: Resurrection' and make it a sequel to 'Halloween H20' or better yet ignore the events of 'Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers' and bring back Danielle Harris and have a grown up Jaime with her Mum. 'Halloween: Resurrection' was the worst and killed the entire series and I am not what the writers were thinking killing off Laurie at the start of the movie and moving to a new lot of people that had no ties to any of the previous movies when they could have had Josh Harnett and Michelle Williams as the main stars and it would have been a proper sequel to 'Halloween H20' but hopefully they do it right this time and don't mess it up.
