B-
6.5, I gave it a 7. Very good performances, & nicely layered mystery & suspense. Alas, what was to be afraid of? Pennywise encountered the kids at least 20 odd times or whatever, & just doddled. He felt like a Freddy Kruger protege, who hasn't even finished half his studies. The overall look & feel of the horror was also a bit too stylized, keeping me from feeling as engaged myself. I suppose that's the formula when it's horror & children though, we're not going to get brutal violence &/or abductions when it's a Spielbergian Goonies bunch like that.

6/10. Pretty good as horror, better as nostalgic coming of age comedy/drama. I appreciated that each of the large cast of kids was given a distinct personality. The problems were with Pennywise, who just isn’t menacing enough, and with the over-reliance on jump scares. Fun to watch, though.

Maybe I'm not easily scared anymore, though not a bad movie at all
