Anyone else pumped for this? I love a murder/mystery type of film and this looks like it has a ton of potential . Based on the best selling book by Jo Nesbo . (and directed by Tomas Alfredson. starring Michael Fassbender & Rebecca Ferguson ). Can't wait for this.

Good gracious, yes! Looks unnerving, impressively acted, and impeccably directed. Different stories but getting a Gone Girl vibe. This could take off if word of mouth is stellar.

It's funny because I can see this going either way. The first time I saw the trailer it was in front of DUNKIRK and it was intense as hell. Then I showed it to a colleague and rewatching it, something seemed off. Like a few lines that were obvious (he's completely insane) or the whole snowman theme being taken so seriously;I know it's the point. But the second time, it felt like I was watching an extremely droll parody of the whole subgenre of 'crime thriller set in Scandinavia".

I didn't get all the praise for the book, it's just your typical ScandiCrime with very little to distinguish it from similar thrillers. Add to this that I'm not exactly a huge fan of the director's previous work - Tinker, Tailor... might be the most tedious movie I ever had to endure in a theatre. And yet, I would love to be positively surprised.
One thing I'm actually curious about is: Did they keep the plot structure of the book? In the novel the killer's identity is given away around the middle and there is a large part that is told from his point of view. The trailer gave me the impression that the film would be more of a classic whodunit with the surprise kept for the end.

Looks stunning if nothing else. There needs to be more films set almost entirely in the snow. Such an amazing backdrop.

How tough could a killer snowman be? Just toss a pot of hot coffee on him and he's history.
