The brazen melodrama 'Fuego' tells the tale of nymphomaniac Laura (Isabel Sarli) whose steamy encounters threaten to end in tragedy. Laura is in a relationship with businessman Jorge (Hugo 'Magic' Mujica) when she meets business contact Carlos (Armando Bo) and begins a torrid affair. Laura is also dallying with her housekeeper Andrea (Alba Mujica) and seducing lusty men in her village. "Laura, you're insatiable. Your desires can't be quenched. You're partly an angel, and partly a devil."
Isabel Sarli
'Fuego' is perhaps the most famous film from director Armando Bo who made a series of popular melodramas in Argentina starring Isabel Sarli. It's filled with scenes of Sarli tempting all who come before her. It's about as subtle as a sledgehammer but might appeal to fans of heavy soap operas. The filmmaker John Waters lists it among his all-time favourite films. Check it out!

I'm an analphabet when it comes to South American movies, I just wrote Isabel Sarli on youtube and this popped up: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIgKWIyX3UAMaybe from a 1960 movie named Favela. I'm not sure if it's the right Isabel...

would you classify this as erotica? I guess you could at a stretch. Maybe an erotic melodrama? It's been compared to the early works of Russ Meyer and cited as an influence upon the films of Victor Manuel Castro and both seem like apt comparisons. There are moments of over-the-top eroticism but it's more about admiring a voluptuous beauty running free around her village.
