I mean we obviously know NZ are going to miss the quality of Boult, but really Oz at home with that pace attack and a high quality spinner are a seriously tough proposition.
I would love to see a home Oz V India series right here and now.

I like his story The story of Saleem Malik's role in Zimbabwe's maiden test victory:- Saleem Malik is alleged to be a very shady character. I personally have not done much research on him so can't say.

Spin is getting out of fashion in ODIs it seems. It's been a while that Indian spinners have done anything of notice. Good if WIndies can win and it looks they very likely will.

He was the ring leader and intermediary for virtually all of the match fixing that happened in the 90’s.

The only thing they are challenging is the bottom rungs. In fact, I’d back both Ireland and Afghanistan to bear them ATM

Comfortable win for Australia - Both the champion bats failed in both digs. NZ will have to bat much, much better if they are any chance. I wonder if the tactics against Smith will still work on a slower, lower Melbourne pitch ?

Do you think Smith will struggle to get back to where he was before getting hit on the head?
I'm beginning to worry.

Do you think Smith will struggle to get back to where he was before getting hit on the head? I'm beginning to worry. Yeah - he will be fine. He played a knock against Pakistan in the one day stuff that was absolutely class. It’s simply a matter of game circumstance at the moment as much as anything. 3 of his last 4 knocks have been odd in so far as the game situation had Australia so far ahead.

I'd also like to think you would at least know by now that I follow every test match going, and often post links to such, so I didn't miss the Oz mauling of Pakistan - I was commentating on it as well! So yeah, I think any sort of benefit of the doubt is I think warranted. Finally, for future reference, I'm British, not English, ok cobber?

Disappointing performance from NZ which I saw little of due to the ludicrous session times (midnight finishes anyone?) What I did see was an attack that lacks penetration amd some very poor batting in Australian conditions.
While I agree with bob that a few low scores for Smith is not indicative of much, apart from perhaps the benefit of formulating a plan and stickimg to it. But there will be a drop off in performance at some stage. History tells us that you don't finish your career averaging 60+. Ponting didn't, Kallis didn't, Dravid and Tendulkar didn't, Sanga didn't. AB didn't. Smith won't either.

I’ll apologise - I’m used to talking cricket online with many, many people who are as subtle as a house brick, and have the knowledge of one too. I know you are a genuine test cricket fan, but it seemed a genuine statement about Pakistan. And I will do you a deal. I will refer to your good self as British as long as you never call me “Robert” again. 🤨

And then an acknowledgement of it being Sri-Lanka... - In a none result rain affected test match I might add. Apology of course accepted, and I offer one for the Robert thing, but if you want to call me house brick from now on that's ok

Pak vs SL can turn into a very competitive contest. Pak out for a slightly disappointing 191 at home and SL lose 3 for 64 in reply after the end of first day's play.

Just to let y'all know. I have two bushfires burning within 5km of my house and my town is being rained with ash and is constantly under a pale of smoke, which is why I haven't been on here much lately.
Hopefully bob's ok, the Central Coast is in the firing line right now too. Big fire not far from Gosford.

Just checked the Australian news and it seems some people (even firefighters) have died. I hope things get in control soon. Hope Bob is Okay.
