Like I said, shite toss decision by England's captain...
Either Buttler has to score one of his free scoring 100s or England will have to bowl Saffers out for 100/120 to have any chance - pitch playing up now.
Where's pimpin?

Buttler gone, unless Archer and Broad can put on a fluke 50 partnership this test is over and Saffers going 1-0 up.
Man they are crap away from home.

Whoa there. The pessimist poms are out on show !!!!! Honestly though, it’s been 2 1/2 innings of shit batting, with only QDK making a decent score - half of which were edges through slips, and he had a bucket load of luck all the way through. If England are legit - they’d fancy a chase of 300 with their batting lineup - down to Curran at 8. But their middle order, particularly Buttler and Bairstow have to stand up and be counted.

At least the test in Saffer is interesting. England are always going to be in this one because Saffers aren't getting runs on the board. The one we have in Oz is going to be a big win to Australia. Only interest is who gets the wickets. Good to see Paine gets some runs. There seems to be a feeling that Tim owes it fo Smith to step away from the game and give him back the captaincy as soon as the two year ban is up. I don't see it that way. Steve needs to show his temperament has improved to the extent he's the right man to lead this new culture the team is trying to build ie: not being arrogant assholes. As far as I'm concerned he hasn't done that yet.

Good. Tomorrow being Saturday and no office, I can finally see live action from the Saffer-England game. Hopefully, it goes right down to the wire.

SA scoring quickly here. A lead of 300 with 3 wickets remaining the dangerous De Kock still on the crease. England might just be in a situation from where they can't win if SA bat a bit longer.

Can I change my prediction fro 2-1 for SA to 4-0? Absolute shitehouse from England. They have started well in the 2nd innings...but I still think Saffers are well in front. Big chases are a thing of rarity. England will be hoping for a Stokes miracle once again.

England don’t chase big totals well. www.howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Matches/MatchRunChasesHighest.asponly two in the top 24.

From your link it seems it would be their highest chase if they make it. The one last summer is their current highest. A saffer victory will set this series up perfectly.

England fold yet again. Fall 107 runs short after promising start.

England fold yet again. Fall 107 runs short after promising start. Again, England’s middle order has failed them once again. I just don’t know how England can keep persisting with Bairstow and Buttler, but every batsman got a start this game, and not one went on to a big score. Worse still, it’s not like this South African side has a bowling attack like the ones of yore. Rabada is class, but Philander is more accurate than menacing, while Nortje, Pretorius and Maharaj are honest toilets at best to be fair. 181 against that lot on a decent batting pitch simply isn’t good enough. In the second innings, they were cruising. They needed 170 odd more with 7 wickets in hand. But it seemed once Stokes fell, they all fell.

That’s a good one - I wish it was a typo, but it’s an autocorrect. This IPad autocorrects everything. I hate it...... It’s 3:48 am here. I really should be in bed. But I’m doing late shifts working up towards New Years Eve.

Lost it at the toss and Root's excuse for bowling first just doesn't add up. His tactics were abysmal during the match, and it's not like we can put it down to flu bug, his tactics are always abysmal.
But in his defence he being badly let down by some of these selections who just consistently fail.

Not just that I no longer trust Butler in the original format, I have never understood why he is played so much down the order. In short England's management and decision making will never let England reach its full potential. But happy for the saffers. Let's hope this series goes right down to the wire.
