I didn't see this game so my view could be totally incorrect when I say that I find it baffling that SA lost only two wickets in 50 overs and made just 266 runs. Okay, I understand that sometimes even 230 is going to be a very good total. That is when wickets are very tough or your team lost 3 or 4 wickets upfront. But given that grounds are small, bats are well made and rules favour batsmen I find it difficult to understand how Amla scored just 108 runs while he carried his bat and batted out 50 overs. That and also the fact that SA lost just two wickets and were 237-1 just how could they not score more? Maybe I am reading too much into just 1 game and maybe it sometimes happen but the margin for error is tight. I do not believe Nohit Sharma is a great player but one good thing about him is that he could double his score after 35 overs. Amla seemed to be getting his touch or something.

The weirdest scoreline ever in an ODI was in the 1992 WC. Pakistan 2-222 lost to West Indies 0-228 by 10 wickets.

The leftists and feminists strike again with Pandya and Rahul being the latest casualty. It's interesting, unlike western countries where there are strong presence of conservative popular media and elites, India has only one major conservative party while there is no significant media presence of conservatives. The elites are totally on the leftist side. At this point of time, even a person like me who dislikes Pandya and Rahul cannot help being disgusted by how brain damaged morons on the left are destroying the country every day.

I think England will win though they may lose first innings of may be 2 or even all 3 Test matches. Would like to see Sam Curran bowl well though I am pretty sure England's lower order will contribute a lot so Sam would likely get a couple of 50s. I hope Windies give them a fight.

Ross Taylor second only to Virat Kohli since 2015 World Cup
Okay, just to remind I have never been a bandwagon-er and I remember how much I and Salter used to stress on the fact that Taylor makes runs against poorer teams or under easier circumstances. Though that was 2 years ago and Taylor has been in form for last 2 whole years so obviously his image has improved with me. But is he a big moment guy? I don't know but I definitely want him to succeed even if I am not sure he has the ability to perform on the big stage.

SA won somehow. Is Pakistan making a case that they do be a contender too in 2019 WC? I think after England, there will be many countries of similar strengths.

23 Jan 2019 International Test Match Series - Day 1 of 5
West Indies V England
Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown
Windies win toss and choose to bat - England pick 2 spinners, the Windies don't pick one! One of these two has read the pitch wrong... Broad left out for Curran, he will not like that but there's the future for England right there it seems.

He has been rested. But I find it odd because he would likely be playing entire IPL.
WI start well. Young Darren Bravo is not so young anymore. Once upon a time he was thought to be the next Lara. I desperately hope he gets some runs in this game.
30/0 (WI batting first)

Not a bad start by the Windies. Terrible sweep by the debutant though. I’ve long believed that you are either a sweeper or not. True sweepers don’t miss straight ones on middle. The only player I can think of who made himself into a sweeper is Matt Hayden.
I think the makeup of the attacks isn’t much of an issue here. WI have Chase and England Stokes to level out the attacks with pace and spin. and it does look like later on, straight bowling of any discipline will reap rewards. Quite low and slow.....

What Sarfaraz Ahmed had said about Andile Phehlukwayo in the recent ODI:
“Abey kaale, teri ammi aaj kahaan baitheen hain? Kya parwa ke aaye hai aaj?” Sarfaraz Ahmed was caught saying as he came near the stumps to collect a ball. (Translates to: “Hey black guy, where’s your mother sitting today? What [prayer] have you got her to say for you today?”)
The word Kaale means black in Urdu/Hindi but I am sure it was meant in a racist way. Pakistan should have made an apology (and according To Shohaib Akhtar Sarfaraz should have made an apology). This Sarfaraz guy seemed like an alright fella till now but I don't like his tone when he said that.
