Did anyone see the conversion rate list during the last Ashes Test? From 50s to not getting to 100s? Perhaps Carl can find it? I remember Misbah was top and was surprised to see Laxman second. they showed it because Root is fifth worse on the list... That last bit will please hosko LAXMAN played at number 6 for a good part of his career. two of his 90s went a long way in winning matches for india in SOUTH AFRICA.

Yeah, Lax many times did run out of partners.

Don't even get me started on Root and his dreadful conversion rate. I've said it numerous times (last time, ironically, I was wrong) but his inability to convert 60s or 70s into hundreds costs England tests.
Whenever I see England talk about "grinding teams down" I know they're no chance because their best batsman has no hunger for runs. How can you grind a team down when your best player is satisfied with a tidy 75 when you gave Kohli, Smith and Williamson regularly clearing 150? Easy answer: you can't.

Excellent. Managed to catch the last 2 overs but pretty good effort by Afghans. Their spinners will be too much for Zim I reckon. This sort of total would be too much for any Asian side I guess.

Bangladesh 52-4 (8.4) Afghanistan 164-6 (20.0) Afghans continue their ascendency. They are not going to be seen as underdogs against Bangers any more. They have beat them in all their last 4 t-20 games and also in their only test.

They have beat them in all their last 4 t-20 games and also in their only test. It’s primarily because Bangladesh still cannot produce decent quicks nor batsmen. Shakib and Tammim aside, they have produced no-one, and generally overhype dramatically a fair chunk of their players when they produce occasional good performances. I’ve heard repeatedly, on many occasions, over a long period of time, things like “Mustafizur is the BEST quick bowler in the world”, “Monimul Haque will be the second best batsman of all time behind Bradman”, “Mushfiqur Rahman is better than Gilchrist”, “Best spinner in the world, Mehidy Hasan”. It’s all bullshit. Tammim is a fine opener, but he is maybe top 10. Shakib is arguably the most consistently good all rounder in the world in both departments across all conditions, but even that mantle is slipping with the ascension of Jason Holder. When the bullhsit starts, it’s hard to stop until players reach rock bottom. With Bangladesh, it might be consecutive losses to Afghanistan and Zimbabwe that does the trick.

Would only print this with a) permission and b) input from the said family. Not sure what the media law is like in England, but in Australia the family could mount a decent case for lible, as truth, in and of itself, is not a defence for defamation, particularly if the 'facts' are wrong.

Scum of the earth. This article was written by Nick Parker, who has been imprisoned previously for criminal reporting methods. He is beyond low.
These people are the scum of the earth. They will stop at nothing to make money from other's misery. The Sun should be fined, sued and shut down. And those who buy and read it should be ashamed of themselves.
