Australia has named their 17 man squad for the India series and AJ got his wish: Pucovski's in the 17. Other notable new name for non-aussies is Sean Abbott, best known for bowling the delivery that ended Phil Hughes' life. Very strong start to the season for him, averaging 17 with the ball and 130 with the bat. So he and Pucovskis (2 double hundreds) have banged the door in. Mitchell Swepson (no chance with Lyon around) Cameron Green, and Michael Neser are the other uncapped members of the 17. James Pattinson's also in.
Pucovski and Burns both in the Australia A team so they are giving Joe a chance to retain his test spot. Marcus Harris in the A Team too but can't see him playing unless he comes in down the order.

Cool. Abbot can and most likely will trouble Indians! Hoping for Pucovski to get a good start.

Buster Nupen, the greatest ever one-eyed Norwegian cricketer. www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/nov/17/buster-nupen-cricket-great-survivor-who-bewitched-hobbs-and-hammond“My father never once talked about his cricket career,” Christopher Nupen, the Bafta award-winning documentary maker, tells me. Which is a particular tragedy because his father had one of the most extraordinary of them all. Nupen Junior – if that is an appropriate way to refer to someone who recently celebrated his 86th birthday – became perhaps the foremost producer of documentaries about classical music, best known for those capturing his friend Jacqueline Du Pré. His father, Eiulf Peter Nupen – popularly known as Buster – was born in Norway, lost an eye in a childhood hammer-bashing accident and was shot through both knees aged 20. Any one of those three things would normally destroy any chances of a cricketing career, but Buster went on to represent South Africa, on and off, for 15 years. Christopher once accompanied his father to Lord’s, where they bumped into a couple of well-known former internationals. “Jack Hobbs said to me: ‘Your father was the most dangerous off-spin bowler the world has ever seen,’” he recalls. “And Wally Hammond, sitting six feet away, said: ‘I’ll second that.’” Herbert Sutcliffe once said Nupen “made me look like a novice”; Eric Rowan, who played 26 Tests for South Africa, said that when facing Nupen “the ball would whip across your legs like a scalded cat”. Louis Duffus, who became South Africa’s foremost cricket writer, said Nupen was so destructive that when they both turned out for Old Edwardians he used to bring along his golf clubs, in the hope there would be time for a quick round in the afternoon.

India's tour of Australia. Chappell says it would be a close contest. I say that's rubbish. Australia will crush India in the test series. India might have an outside chance in the T-20 series but that's not because India is good. T-20 cricket simply allows anytime to stay in contest for most part of the game by its very nature.
My prediction Australia destroys India in Test series Australia comfortably wins the ODI series Australia would likely win the T-20 series.

The ODI and T20 series will be tight. Australia isn’t exactly world beaters in either format either regardless of what the rankings suggest. As for the real stuff. I’m not sensing many draws and a 2-2 wouldn’t surprise me at all. It’s more likely 3-1 Australia, but you underestimate your countrymen Aj_June . They are in the fight up to their necks with a formidable batting lineup (with or without Kohli) and a very good pace attack headed by Bumrah, Ishant and Shami.

I think you're seriously over rating Australia's short form teams aj. We're really no that good. Our T20 ranking in particular is, to be harsh, a joke.
A meek capitulation in the tests wouldn't surprise me. Though India certainly have the bowling to compete in Oz, there's some menral fragility to exploit.

Listening to the ODI on the radio, just as God intended. Jim Maxwell and Ed Cowan are your ABC Radio commentators, with Andrew Moore waiting patiently. A minute's silence for Dean Jones followed by some sweet work on the didge during the Welcome to Country. India in their replica 1992 World Cup uniforms (IMO some of the best national uniforms ever). Finch wins the toss and Aussies are batting.

India have bowled 25 overs in two hours. These two weeks in self isolation haven't helped their enthusiasm at all.

Suddey realised I haven't shared the state of play: Warner (69no) and Finch (73no) cruising at 0-156 in the 28th over. Finch dropped by Dhawan (difficult chance) on 36. Warner nearly run out on about 10 but just beat the throw. Good shout on Finch for lbw off Jadeja but didn't review.

It was very bad. Like Zaheer Khan first over of the 2003 World Cup Final bad. Good game going on now, but I think we'll win. One wicket now and it turns right in our direction
