Alright, Carl...here's your starter for ten. Are these the most lopsided innings scores in first class history?
67 & 541

Alright, Carl...here's your starter for ten. Are these the most lopsided innings scores in first class history? 67 & 541 I don't think this is the most lopsided but I just found it interesting:
Totals of 15 and 521 It's a famous match, but the scorecard still has the capacity to amaze: after Warwickshire made 223 at Edgbaston in 1922, Hampshire crumbled to 15 all out. Warwickshire's captain Freddy Calthorpe proposed a game of golf to his opposite number Lionel Tennyson, since the match would obviously soon be over: "This brought forth an immediate flow of good Anglo-Saxon from Lionel," recalled the Hampshire allrounder Harold Day in Wisden 1962. Hampshire followed on and ran up 521, setting a target of 314... and Warwickshire barely got halfway. "At the end of the match," said Day, "Lionel gave a passable imitation of a Highland fling under the shower baths."

After Trescothick, Trott and some others, now Sarah Taylor is also among the ones who are suffering from anxiety issues. In fact it's not now as she missed one full year before. She was in top form this season and yet will miss the T-20 world cup in WI in November.
I know it is small data but I have to wonder if English cricketers are more susceptible to anxiety/depression and if yes whatever may be the reasons.

Happy trails. India won the Asian Cup, scrambling a leg bye off the final ball to win by 3 wickets. Bangla's failure to bat out their 50 overs proved very costly.

England's first world title is written all over in 2019 unless Australia improve significantly.

It’s funny that in this thread arguably one of the worst keepers of all time and one of the best we’re mentioned in totally different circumstances.
Kamran Akmal is a joke. Some of those in that video look a little too ‘contrived’ - especially the second Ross Taylor one.
On the other hand - Sarah Taylor I believe to be the best keeper in the world, and one of the best of all time. Immaculate, precision glove work, and so quick, both in the hands but also the mind.

Feel Lyon is the only guy who can keep Australia in the tests in the coming series. What say weststigersbob and hoskotafe3?

Feel Lyon is the only guy who can keep Australia in the tests in the coming series. What say weststigersbob and hoskotafe3 ? Depends greatly on the surfaces presented, and the mindset of the Aussies. If they can get themselves ‘up’ like they did for the India series, and also with the grit and up yours abrasion to fight without Smith and Warner - they might do alright. I wouldn’t be surprised with 2 long slow boring draws TBH....

But Lyon has evolved into a very high quality spinner and he can trouble Pakistan a lot. So I see a lot will depend upon him in absence of other people who could have played match turning part - Smith and to some extent Warner.

That NEVER happens mate. Ever. Same reason Pakistan have played an all pace attack.

That NEVER happens mate. Ever. Same reason Pakistan have played an all pace attack. No. I do not consider turning tracks as doctored pitches. Nor do I consider a grassy surface of NZ as doctored pitch. I believe home sides may put on pitches of their strength (without endangering the other team in anyway) and it is responsibility of the touring side to win. Especially more these days given how global even domestic leagues have become in many countries. There are certain ways in which home sides can deny proper training for the touring sides. One is by fielding an extremely weak team against the touring sides in practice matches. One of the international teams was alleged to have done that a few years ago though I can't recall which one. The other method is by providing unrealistic conditions to the touring side in their practice games.
Pakistan may have done the later or both but I am not sure. There is nothing illegal even if Pakistan did those things deliberately because these things can never be proven. Is it morally wrong? I don't know. Different people will think differently on the issue. Pakistan would ideally like to win the series against Australia and for that they need a surface that can provide some assistance to their bowlers. But Pakistan's management may be just as erratic as their team and may not be doing things according to any plan.

May be I am being extremely foolish in analysing these things too much. Justin Langer feel so differently.
"Really great preparation, it's been fantastic," Australia coach Justin Langer said after the match. "We came here a little bit earlier, we have adapted to the heat, we have got some great individual and collective results, I think it has been the perfect preparation so far."

Because Australia is the greatest cricketing nation of all time it is very difficult for neutral fans to support Australia. The greatest are usually envied rather than loved. But given the fact that they are playing against Pakistan I wouldn't like them to lose. I hope to see a drawn series so that fans of neither side feel too happy about the outcome. But if one side was to win then I do prefer to see Australia win it. That said a drawn series will be a huge moral victory for Australia.

west indies vs india begins today. This will be interesting - West Indies, whilst still well below their best, have been on a steady improve for a while now. India on the other hand seem to be relying more and more on Kohli to do all the batting, and the spin twins to do the business with the ball. India should win, and win well but I don’t think they’ll have it all their own way....

ROACH and GABRIEL together might have made a big impact. but unfortunately ROACH isnt playing.
