A tied game. I was wishing for Windies win. Sad. But happy that 2 of their batsmen rose to the occasion. Hope Windies can win the next one.

Ref: England Defeat
Comes as no surprise to me, tis why I couldn't comfortably wager on England for the World Cup. As this game has proved, and Scotland before it, if you take your foot off the pedal then you get punished. I think it's a good thing, a wake up call, but it does those on the fringe of the squad no favours. Personally I'm with Mark Taylor who strongly vocalised that you shouldn't change a winning team, you should drive the opposition into the ground and win every match of a series.

Personally I'm with Mark Taylor who strongly vocalised that you shouldn't change a winning team, you should drive the opposition into the ground and win every match of a series. England are not as dominant as Windies of late 70s or Aus of 2003 but they are significantly stronger than any other team. To win WC 2019 any team would have to win 3 KO games in a row. Indian batsmen will struggle in England though they did win Champions trophy in 2013 in England and made it to finals of last champions Trophy. Australia isn't looking like a team that will have confidence to win WC. Even Smith's return can't be that big help because he is just an average batsman in ODI format. SA can be a dark horse but no team can compete with England in terms of batting power. Pakistan is a joke and their recent one-off CT win was a big farce. Would likely not happen twice.
My personal probability England 50% chance The field 50% chance.

My personal thoughts are it will be a dull and interminably long tournament that I will have lost interest in well before the end. I'd give 80% odds on that.

I believe the low scoring matches may be interesting. There is a great chance that tournament will be boring though if they make not so flat wickets we can have some good games.

3 Cheers for West Indies for wining in a great style. I hope they can win the series too. The only regret was to see arrogant Kohli get another 100. Hope Windies continue their great show.

Sri Lanka v England: Joe Denly stars on international return as tourists win by 30 runs! - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/46004502There we go AJ, England found that 20/20 spinner you felt they needed! That was a long long wait for Denly. Good on him and I hope he continues. But at the moment SL batting is in horrendous shape.
Hope England can tackle Herath in the first Test. After that they should probably be looking for a series victory in subcontinent.
As for WI- They do pick Indian spinners better than most teams or even if they don't pick , they can still play them well. I have a lots of hope in Hope's future.

What has he done and what do you mean? Got himself injured playing soccer, and after batting poorly in a couple of tests this summer. Recklessly so.

Indians are soon to visit Australia. I guess it's time for them to get humbled by Aussie Pacers.
I think Australia will easily win the Test series. I think the limited over competitions may be interesting.

That's sad but happy that he has been found out (looks the charges are most likely true).

He brought disrepute to the game but at least the fact that he has been found out will clean the place for good (all assuming that he actually is guilty). Such moments really shame me as a cricket fan.

Such moments really shame me as a cricket fan. There seems to be no end to it, it's that what make me sad. I'm just waiting for that dreadful day when one of my heroes turns out to be a cheat and then I'm finished with it. Mind you, if it ever came out that someone like Botham had cheated I would crap in his autobiography and send it to him
