I've never really known much about this comic, but I would be interested in most things Jessica Chastain.
Was this the series that was on SyFy several years back with a lady Terminator? Is this character part of the mainstream DC universe?

Hope it get's an R-Rating too. It probably will since Atomic Blonde has done fine.

Is this character part of the mainstream DC universe? Yes that is the one. I have that series on DVD. Also, prior to that SyFy, tried Painkiller Jane with Emmanuel Vaugier starring but that one never got past the pilot movie stage as I recall.

Is this character part of the mainstream DC universe? Yes. There was a TV series of it on the Syfy with Kristanna Loken as the lead and a TV movie with Emmanuel Vaugier but both were straightwashed and much like 'The Crow' TV show they were watered down and weren't anywhere near as violent as the comic books were. Jessica Chastain has said Jane won't be straightwashed this time and the movie is going to be what the comic book series was which was awesome and could definitely be a big hit for her. 'Painkiller Jane' was never part of the DC Universe. She is currently under Event Comics which is a comic book company that is owned by the creator, Jimmy Palmiotti. 'The Monolith' which is the other movie this article mentions and was created by Jimmy Palmiotti too is a DC series and it will be made under Lionsgate and won't be a part of the DCEU.

Straightwashed? Did you make that term up? Did you have any strong opinions when they made LeFou gay in Beauty and the Beast? I didn't think it would be a part of the movies, but was she when the character was owned by his DC comics? Jessica Chastain is a fine actress and I would love to see her in action role.

She doesn't get nearly enough attention. She's been good in everything I've seen her do - and she was also in a sort of action role in the movie "The Debt" where she played a Mossad agent who was not only a spy under cover but she was also trained in hand to hand combat. Jessica was shown practicing it and then engaging in it more than once. In this role, her part took place in 1965 and her Jewish mother had been killed in WWII so I think Jessica's character was a Holocaust survivor. So she had to show the fragile frame of mind of a survivor who was hunting down (with other agents) a Nazi era doctor wanted for experimenting on human beings during WWII. It was quite a bit to handle and I think she did it really well (like everything I've seen her do).

Painkiller Jane was never under DC. It debuted in 1995 under Event Comics and then was under Dynamite Entertainment and Icon Comics and yes, Jane debuted as bisexual just like Cassie Hack in 'Hack/Slash' and a number of other female comic book characters in the 90s and 00s and there are a LOT of Bisexual and Homosexual characters in comic books and comic books and novels have always been far more progressive with representation of female and LGBT characters which is why I read more than watch movies which are mostly a sausage fest with female characters only existing to be secondary characters to males, love interests or sex conquests and with the lack of representation of female and LGBT characters in Hollywood movies the last thing we need is straightwashing in a series where her main love interest is female. Straightwashing has long been a problem in Hollywood for a long time and there have been hundreds of adaptions of novels and comic books where homosexual characters have been turned heterosexual including Lesbian Romance Novels such as 'Fried Green Tomatoes' where they leads were made into friends with one of them pining over the other's deceased brother. On top of that we have had very offensive movies like ‘Gigli’ and ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ where lesbians were turned 'straight' whenever the right men come along ('cause there is always that one guy who is so amazing he can do that.) and TV shows like All Saints, Heartbreak High, Home and Away, Last Man Standing and the Secret Life Of Us where a guy pinned after a lesbian the whole show who magically turned 'straight' for him at the end. Then we have Pussy Galore who was raped straight in 'Goldfinger' which was even more sinister in the novel and movies that encourage men to rape us or expose themselves to us 'cause what we all secretly crave for is a big hard juicy cock that will cure us of our lesbian ways.
This book, 'Killing Off the Lesbians' has hundreds of examples of the 'burying your gays' trope along with female characters who were turned straight in movies and TV shows, female characters from novels and comic books who were straightwashed for screen and gay slurs towards lesbians and is a direct shit in the mouth of all the homophobes that love to claim how Hollywood and the TV industry has always been so accepting of us and has been spreading a 'gay agenda' for years with over 800 examples from the 80s to now and quotes from people in the industry talking about Hollywood's view of lesbians.

I guess am a little confused, because the comic book cover you posted has a DC logo on it. The Chronicles of Riddick doesn't have any romances – lesbian, gay, or straight. Are you thinking of another movie?

Are you thinking of another movie? That's okay. Sorry if I confused you but the article was talking about two movies. As for 'The Chronicles of Riddick' this review points out the problems. www.popculturemonster.com/movies/riddick-review/

The Chronicles of Riddick is the second movie in the series. Riddick is the third one with Katee Sackhoff; whom I also loved at Starbuck. Aside from a few clips, I haven't seen that movie, so I can't say how I feel about that particular aspect of it. But I looked up the James Bond scene you're talking about, and yeah that's really bad. I have a question for you. My wife used to work with a woman who was in a relationship with another woman; a colleague in a different department actually. It never even entered into my mind that Judith was anything other than a lesbian. My wife would later find out that this was the first and only same-sex relationship she had ever been in. One day over lunch Judith had told my wife that she had never had feelings for another woman until she met her partner. She had always dated men and just simply fell in love with a woman. She even said that if they ever broke up she would probably still date event. What say you said that situation?

I have seen 'Gigli’ and aside from the problems I pointed out it is a terrible movie and I am surprised Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck sunk so low to make it 'cause it is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and a lot of my friends loved 'Maid in Manhattan' which was the movie Jennifer made before it. With your Wife's friend (Judith) it sounds like she is bisexual with a preference for men but found a woman who changed that for her. I don't know her so I can't really say but everybody is different and some of us don't even come out until we are in our late teens and early 20s 'cause we have our minds on other things like studying and work and don't realise until that one person comes along and opens our eyes. For me, I knew I was Bi from a young age 'cause I had feelings for Beccy and all my celebrity crushes were women but I tried to fight my feelings and felt like there was something wrong with me 'cause of the things my Father said about homosexual people. If I broke up with my Wifey now I would never go back to dating guys 'cause while I love having guys as friends I know I can't fall in love with one and would never be happy.
