It's been a really long time since I saw the episode, and one of the few things I remember is that I loved the dog.

I have to say that WALKING DISTANCE is the only episode of any TV show that ever brought tears to my eyes. It did so when I was younger and does so even more now.
Strangely, I'm not entirely sure why it has this effect. I am quite attached to my childhood and do sometimes suffer with nostalgia so I have to suppose this has some part of the reason.
Either way, it's remarkable that 25 short minutes of television from half a century ago can still tap into my psyche and produce such a strong emotional reaction.
I would really struggle to list a top 10 episodes or even a specific single favourite but WALKING DISTANCE will always have a special place in my heart.
Part of the sadness to it is also knowing how main star Gig Young's life panned out.

I also agree here that it was tragic and an unexpected loss of this fine actor Gig Young .
Thanks so much simest for sharing your favorite TZ episode with us here
and for your wonderfully put reply here also .
