Nolan likes to kill off women to kickstart a male’s journey. The female lead of the first two Batman films is a nagging, judgmental woman who is merely a prize. How is she a "prize" when she rejects Batman? Of all the superhero female leads that are there to get rescued and then reward the hero with sex, you picked the one that...didn't. and while she's nagging and annoying to the audience, I think she's actually supposed to be the films' moral compass. But to defend you for a second, sexism isn't just "categorically hating women" any more than racism is "categorically hating other races". That's a simplification and why people who are racist and sexist generally don't think they're racist and sexist. Aside from the change noted above, misogynist isn't just categorically hating women--that's why I wrote more than that. You can't ignore the other words. |

Alright, sexism is not just categorical hatred, dislike, bias, contempt, bitterness, unsavoriness, disgust, distaste, disapproval, animosity, loathing, hostility - or the thesaurus of other completely different words you used - for/against women. But the fact that the OP said misogyny and not sexism before editing has been noted, thus any further argument is pointless. |
