So all of the DCEU fanatics who say SMH is a flop must think the entire DCEU is a flop too ? Weird!

But the point is, Sony has to share with Marvel Studios. They were making over 700M+ WW alone without Marvel Studios.
An Iron Man cameo, a Caps reference, following Civil War, and Spider-Man still can't make 1B?
Look, 860M World Wide is great, but you know damn well Sony was expecting 1B+ WW.
If you told Sony they could share Spider-Man with MCU, and they'd only make 100M more, they'd have just stuck with their own Spidey-Shared Universe idea.

Sony does not share the box office with Marvel, they paid Marvel to produce the film which is a cost factored into the films production budget, Sony keeps all the studio return on the box office, so by teaming with Marvel Sony made an extra $150m over their last Spidey film and get this...at between $25m to $118m less so this partnership made them money, saved them money and reinvigorated their best franchise.
Also doubt they expected it to do $1b considering it was the 3rd iteration of the same character in $15 years, their last film in the franchise was the lowest grossing of any of the run and that Spidey has never done $1b hell it's never cracked $900m, fans expected it to do $1b but that was based on nothing but fanboying out.

Delusional f&*cking hypocrite! It's no secret BvS underperformed, who said it didn't? The potential is higher for D.C. Because their characters are more well known. For example, the opening day Friday was higher than Avengers and Jurassic World, but Saturday and Sunday dropped sharp due to lukewarm reception, then the second weekend was a huge drop. However, of BvS was universally liked, it would have probably grossed 215M+ opening weekend.

Who cares? This is the DCEU board.
Go take your financial circle jerk to the MCU board where it belongs.

reeks like MCU desperation. They need to deflect that MCU shows get worst viewership on netflix ever, with one show being on zero rating. Lol, three commercial and critical flops in a row that is a pattern, not even Suicide Squad achieved that. The movies could do better too, not really talked about and needing the China markets to prosper, just like Transformers. Dark times. My amusement is manifold.

Marvel Studios only keeps the money the merchandise makes. 2. The budget for Homecoming is WAY lower than The Amazing Spider-Man 2, so its made WAY more profit even with only a hundred million more. 3. No, Sony wasn't expecting a billion. You're a fucking moron. 4. Show me any sign that anyone behind-the-scenes is displeased with the turnout. Holland is set to stay in the MCU for a very, very long time and Sony is making no move to change that. Looks like you're wrong in every single regard, yet again. 5. Fuck you and go to Hell.

DCEU is floundering four movies in with an abysmal public reputation whereas the MCU is just two years away from completing its first big spanning storyarc.

I've told him the same thing multiple times. WW and SM:Homecoming are good and successful movies, but they're nothing we haven't seen 10 times before. The over-exaggerating is getting ridiculous. It's starting to make me hate both movies.

The only MCU show to get lower viewership was Defenders, and that's because viewers thought they'd need to watch every show beforehand when they didn't. Iron Fist was disliked for Political Reasons, and Inhumans has been judged by one episode only and there are comic political reasons for why some would dislike it. So no, no commercial and critical flops in a row. It is entertaining to see the anti-MCU crowd clinging to these minor stumbles like they mean anything though, it's like how they keep praising Wonder Woman when the only reason her film did any good was due to artificial boosters.

WOW, this is embarrassing. Crowing about a movie that, if done correctly, could've easily made Avengers-level money sitting at like $850m? In 2017?
Pathetic. Seriously.
