I especially like industrial locations and landscapes. Post-apocalyptic films set in abandoned factories and industrial wastelands. Stories set in mining areas, mill towns, agricultural works etc. Historical tales dealing with rapid railroad construction, the building of bridges, factory floor extensions. That's sort of thing.
And for weather conditions, I really love movies set in the snow, though I appreciate all kinds of weathers when it comes to cinema.

...for pure breathtaking landscape, "The Man From Snowy River" is one of my all time favorites.
On another note, "Russian Ark" takes place in St Petersburg, Russia and along with the score is also breathtaking...
