So you guys wanted a Black Widow movie. Here you go... So they're putting Mystique in Black Widow's movie because Iron Man is too busy being the lead in Captain America's movie and Spider-Man's movie?

There have been dozens of Black Widow movies. Just look at Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie's filmographies. The badass female spy thing has been done over and over again. It's quite stale.

This feels like it was written for BW but Disney wouldn't make it so they changed the name. I'll check it out.

Excellent point, the best argument I've heard against a BW movie to date. I'm one of those guys always talking about how she deserves her own film-- and I still think she does. But when you consider how well tread that particular sub-genre is, you can understand why Marvel would want to go in another direction with their films. How do you do a PG-13 version of this and still make it interesting? And more to the point, if you have hundreds of characters to choose from, why not do something fresh with properties like Ant-Man or Dr. Strange? It's totally understandable.

Although I do enjoy Scarlet and her interactions with the cast I wish she had been playing a different character. BW is just boring IMO. Plus a character with no powers just shouldn't be there anyway. They could've made her a Russian version of the super soldier but they didn't so her presence always seems totally out of place.

I think they should go personal with her and pair her with a non-Avenger. And don't have him/her betray BW (that always happen to female spies). The only thing is that my idea for a Black Widow movie would be like what's in the trailer. About the Red Room and her origins to it. But at the same time I'd make the movie a James Bond-like globetrotting spy adventure.

But you want to watch a spin-off movie that has zero ties to its source material, zero ties to the character he has most history with and cannot exist without with a tone that does not suit him ( Venom)?
