I just knew there must be one more move they can remake, if it is a remake, since 1973 I've read that Henri Charrière might have just been a teller of tall tales. In my opinion the 1973 movie is one of the great movies of the 1970s, I was too young when I first watched it, seeing it many times since then there are so many interesting details I never thought of back then.
Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman, and a cast if great old actors like Victor Jory and George Coulouris in small roles.
The remake is a Serbia | Montenegro | Malta | USA co-production, debuted at Toronto International Film Festival in early September this year, Yet no distributers have picked it up, so there must be something wrong with it, is my guess. Maybe too realistic???

Yeah I keep forgetting about that one. I heard Charlie Hunnam was playing Papillon.

Distributors might be worried about the Feds going after the production company – Red Granite.
