I would be most likely to break "Never say I'll be right back." I always say that when I excuse myself to go to the ladies' room.

I voted drugs/drinking. For the same reason I would have for big-haired-funny-glasses guy. Any character with a bong or Hawaiian shirt (oh the tropes) is going to be killed...but at least he usually dies at the halfway point or better...usually with a memorable death scene.
