Yet another Zachary Stash It's possible Vinnie may actually have beaten Zach to it.

...he would have been spot on as Casimir Pulaski, if ever there was a bio film made about him...

Who did you have in mind for Zachary to play when you started this clever thread ? Sorry it got taken off the rails a tad. It seems to be back on track now.

BATouttaheckApologies--and I hope petrolino doesn't mind--but here's another candidate for the "Cinematic Moustaches Thread":

Not an historical figure in the usual sense. as in neither statesman nor king, Eugene O'Neill bore a likeness to Zachary Scott, and Scott could have played O'Neill at most any age, depending on his own age. Another writer, more of a stretch but not that much: Edgar Allan Poe. That Scott was a Southerner would have helped.

telegonus I could see Scott as O'Neill or as Poe, yes. As for the latter, he would have been a far more convincing Poe than Joseph Cotten:

BATouttaheck Apologies--and I hope petrolino doesn't mind--but here's another candidate for the "Cinematic Moustaches Thread": Are you kidding? I love moustaches (and hats, beards, crosses, brooches, bows, ribbons - all accoutrements are good with me!)

I honestly had nobody in particular in mind, Bat. But I do think Scott has the right kind of look to play a historical figure in a period piece. Glad to read all and any suggestions.

I really enjoyed John Cusack's performance as Poe in the hugely enjoyable mystery 'The Raven' (2012). I'd be all in for a picture with Scott playing Poe. In pictures I recall seeing, Eugene O'Neill cut a stern figure.

For looks, no one beats a young Bill Murray as Edgar Allan Poe,-- with an added mustache.
Good call on Eugene O'Neill. Zachary Scott had the right look but there was always that softness to him. In his affect, I mean, not so much his features. O'Neill nearly always looked intense.
