True about Hammer, Petro. Their "Europe" was cozy but rather small, and rather similar, not surprisingly, to Universal's, and a good deal smaller, it seems. They seemed to work harder than Uni at making their back lot look authentic as to locale, right down to the costumes, thus their Rumania or Bulgaria would be as convincing as their Germany or Austria. Universal had that strange town called Vasaria in some movies, a secret pocket in supernatural Europe.

Yes, and one of the stranger things about that town was how it changed its name, from Vassaia in one movie to Visaria in another. But then they had that Egyptian mummy guy who started out as Im-Ho-Tep, morphed into Kharis a few years later. Then there's the business of the changing Frankenstein family residences, the moving watchtower, from Bride to Son.
