"all of them right, imo !"Really? I thought it was alright- not as good as the stage musical, but still enjoyable.I love Abba´s music though, and otherwise the experience may be a bit dull . The story is in the music, not in the story itself if you know what I mean.

What's messy about my favorite musical? It's very much a straightforward story and the songs all blend together excellently. I probably just don't like the messy looking characters. Without The Rocky Horror Picture Show's big lip Tim Curry trademark (looking like those wax candy lips you probaly got at Halloween) we wouldn't have Miranda Sings (also without Colleen Ballinger..)

Any character in particular? Susan Sarandon looked absolutely stunning. Mind elaborating here? What do you mean by 'messy'? When I think messy I'm thinking of the very end of the story when the house takes off into outer space, leading to the "Super Heroes" sequence. All of them to be honest. I can't even recall the Super heores sequence, I really struggled through it when I watched it a long time ago. I just remembered thinking that given all of the hype about this play/movie that it was really disappointing. As a kid I loved the song though and I have an original soundtrack LP that is done in blood red vinyl. Wel, Susan Sarandon being a SJW(Social Justice Warrior has almost but not quite completely turned me off but see my last post..)

I hated mama mia. But to be fair, a little bit of it has to do with the fact that I don't like Abba's music except for Dancing queen. I like their music, didn't like the film which for me has Meryl Streep's only poor performce.

I like ABBA music but I haven't seen Mama Mia. it just sounds a little -- uh -- trashy. I don't know why... is it the three dudes possibly being the father? is it the mother waiting for her daughter to get married to find this out??? you gotta know what else is swimming around in those bodies...

SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND with The Bee Gees was pretty bad. I think that was a turning point in '70's Hollywood when people started saying, "Oh my God. What in Hell are we doing?".

It was awful...I guess the Steve Martin segment and the Arrowsmith segment have a little appeal on their own.

I'm one of the few who loved Evita, but I'm a big Madge fan from the beginning.
I remember going to a Saturday matinee as a child in the 70's and seeing Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. It was what was playing and we always went every Saturday afternoon. I just HATED IT! Maybe if I saw it again now that I have a better appreciation of music and movies...funny thing is, a few short years later I was taken to see Popeye, which was a musical, and I loved that. That might have more to do with my Robin Williams worship back then.

The Sound of Music.
If I'd seen Grease that would probably take over top spot.

I think that the film Humphrey Bogart considered his worst may make every choice listed so far to be very good in comparison. Here is the complete "Swing Your Lady" (1938) which Bogie called a "stinker"...everything is bad. Ronald Reagan probably was glad that he only had one scene as a reporter that lasts under a minute (at the 45:50 mark). Musical numbers at the 4 and 15 minute marks are perhaps the worst thing in the film. These are by The Weaver Bros. and Elviny and are not only bad they are depressing. The first, "Dig Me A Grave in Missouri" starts things off. "The Old Apple Tree" sung about her father being lynched in a tree he planted is just as bad. Penny Singleton's numbers are pretty bad but way better than the ones above that Elviny croaks out. Complete film

Popeye Haven't seen POPEYE for yonks. It's not terrible and the production design is terrific, it's just that the songs aren't that great or memorable.
