Not sure why Head is on a list of horror films. I mean it's zany, but it isn't horror.

I agree ReyKahuka the film Head from 1968 is categorized as a " satirical musical adventure film " according to Wikipedia . I'm not sure why it's on this list for horror films this October . IMPO - Of course it's still a good and fun classic film just the same . Thanks ReyKahuka for your reply .

Actually just reread the TCM Underground Main Page here perhaps it's the Micky Dolenz connection between this film HEAD and another film mentioned here with this same actor . The other Micky Dolenz film - The Night of the Strangler (1972)

mszanadu Thanks for the info. Too bad it doesn't list the specific dates for the movies. I'll have to check my guide regularly. I can't wait to see uninterrupted versions of the 2 Blacula movies and I really want to see Head because I'm a big Monkees fan.

I can't wait to see uninterrupted versions of the 2 Blacula movies and I really want to see Head because I'm a big Monkees fan. You're most welcome taylorfirst1 . There actually is a way to get further information about these movies and put reminders on your email too . On my main subject post link above here when you click to get to it to the upper right is a little black box that says - Related Links - in that box and below that title is the - Complete Movie Line-up - for this months films just click on the movie title you wish to see for movie info . These boxes are also on each of these individual movie profile pages too . Here is one of the movies you mentioned and wanted to see here also . Blacula Film Page After you click on this link to that movie profile page and to the left side of the movie profile picture in orange lettering it says - VIEW TCMDb ENTRY - if you click on that it also gives you a bit more info on this film too . If you want to add reminders to your email there are also little white boxes on all the movie profile pages that say - Remind Me - click on those , add your email address , and click on submit TCM's service for that will let you know about 7 days and 24 hours before the film is to be shown too .

Excellent politicidal ! Which films are you looking forward to the most out of this list ? Although these all look like really good ones and I may watch them all every late Saturday evening this month - for me mostly I'm really interested in - Willard (1971) , Ben (1972) , The Night of the Strangler (1975) , The Brood (1979) , & Repulsion (1965) .

Also please don't forget to either set your reminders up ( via TCM Website ) for these on your email or if have one and decide to make a marathon of it for later on set up the DVR also . Thanks again politicidal for your replies .

TCM Underground in October Am I the only one a little disappointed? TCM runs most of those frequently on Underground. Thanks for the reminder though. October is my favorite month on TCM but I sometimes miss the first day of the Horror spotlights because the day always changes. This time Tuesdays is the classic horror day and October 3rd features some of my favorite movies including one of my top 10 movies EVER. The Black Cat (1934) is the best Karloff/Lugosi pairing and my favorite Universal horror. I might have missed it as well as that evenings entire killer lineup if you hadn't made this thread. Thanks mszanadu you are an angel as always. The Wolf Man Island of Lost Souls The Black Cat The Invisible Man Damn that's perfection. Lineups don't get any better than that and since they are all late night I'm happier than usual I'm the boss. Besides missing a few organ deliveries isn't that big a deal, right?

This is a non sequitur, but how often does "Head" pop up? I remember watching this with some friends late at night, shortly after its release on VHS. We took a smoke break in the backyard when my dog needed a potty break. Discussing what we'd seen up to this point (I think it's best to go in cold on this movie), we were interrupted by a gargoyle-sized owl 'hoo-ing' at us from the trees above. I freaked out and ran into a nearby tree. Was stoned enough to laugh it off but woke up the next morning with a good shiner. Anyway, "Head" is a fond memory for me and it doesn't come up too often...so ya know, I had to tell my owl story Thanks mszanadu

I have The Brood on MGM DVD. I'm most looking forward to watching Willard. I've never seen it before, but known about it since I was a child. Headd, I've never even heard of it, but I like The Monkees reruns and I absolutely love another "musical adventure movie", The Apple (1980).

I can't believe I forgot to mention in my other post that Head features some clips from The Black Cat. Funny teenage pot smoking story by the way. Those were the days, huh?

The other Micky Dolenz film - The Night of the Strangler (1972) My sister was a huge Monkees fan during their 1980s sort-of resurgence so I've seen (ok, it was on and I was in the room, maybe I'm fuzzy on the details, lol) that one too. These sure are some funky selections by TCM.

This Sunday is Dracula night on TCM. They are showing "Dracula", "Dracula's Daughter", "Son of Dracula", and "Nosferatu" all in one night.
I'm also looking forward to "Island of Lost Souls" and "The Black Cat", both of which I haven't seen in many years.

Thank you for sharing this, mszanadu. Since I'm not exactly the night owl I used to be, I'll have to PVR what I want to watch.
If I recall, TCM Underground didn't do much a horror movie run last October. So this will make up for it.

You're very welcome poelzig . I'm so glad you were able to find more excellent TCM films just from my subject post here as well . Also thanks so much poelzig for your very kind words here of me and for noticing those other excellent horror films too . How I actually decided to put up this particular subject post in the first place - long story a bit short here . It was when I noticed on the TCM Website when I had already put up another subject post thread for the TCM Silent Film Sundays . The TCM Underground films list had caught my eye especially one particular film that I have not seen yet but really wanted to was the film BEN from 1972 ( and I actually have not watched this Underground film program in about a year now surprisingly - does time fly or what ? ) . I have recently watched the first movie WILLARD from 1971 on The Movie Channel about a week or two before and only had seen it once but luckily will get to watch that one on TCM again as well . It appears October is going to be an excellent month for horror films on TCM . Thanks poelzig for your reply .
