USA kicking butt. Up 11 1/2 to 2 1/2. The US only needs 4 more pts for the win.

You get this practise event but still you cannot gel v the brits and ireland (with serg and a few token other mainlanders). even when you win there is something missing imo... The british masters has been pretty decent so far, some good shots, shot of the week worldwide has to be spieth's air though

Nuts, could you maybe find the video of Berger's 2nd shot on the 1st hole? He was on the side slope along a creek. First he put one foot in the creek to hit, decided against it, stood close to the ball and his shot hit in front of the green and rolled over the hole to within 2 feet. Amazing shot.

I would love to see a ryder cup on a links again .
The old at st andrews( although not the best course and weather can switch it from a stroll in the park to a climbing mt everest) would invoke that magic history and it has so many risk/reward attempts.
I have had enough of the belfry, valderrama, celtic manor, gleneagles type...(nice courses but inland and seem too corporate) (i have played them all and they don't touch the experience of a proper links)..
Ballybunion(ire) would be my choice after the old.

The lack of links golf on professional tours annoys me. Its like test cricket (something you may not be able to relate to). But both are the foundations of their sport and when honoured it makes it very special. I think the ones 'pulling the strings' feel links has too many unknown quantities and will produce random winners as not enough players have the skillset to play it and they put it on to ;luck - now there is a point to be made that yes links has more unknown quantities however you can make your own luck through practise, visualisation and creativity. I feel its not to make the open special(no ryder cups on links) but to retain the 'drop and stop' game which lacks the imagination but increases US participation - so on that basis its a bit sad.
