I enjoyed Star Trek: Beyond and Star Wars: The Force Awakens exceeded expectations. Also, I have heard good things about Tomorrowland: A World Beyond so will probably see that soon.
Actually "underrated" could mean major releases from major studios and directors that you liked but didn't fair so well critically, but it could also mean smaller titles that were very good but flew under most people's radar. I tried to take a middle way with my list drawn from films from the New Century.
Frequency / Gregory Hoblit Happy Accidents / Brad Anderson The Man Who Wasn’t There / Coen Bros Sunshine State / John Sayles American Splendor / Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini Mean Creek / Jacob Aaron Estes Spartan / David Mamet Broken Flowers / Jim Jarmusch Hairspray / Adam Shankman Rachel Getting Married / Jonathon Demme Meek’s Cutoff / Kelly Reichardt Hugo / Martin Scorsese Killing Them Softly / Andrew Dominik American Hustle / David O. Russell Predestination / Michael and Peter Spierig Knight Of Cups / Terrence Malick

There are no unerrated movies. If a movie isn't popular, it's because it's not very good. Simple as that. However, there are plenty of overrated movies. The Marvel and DC crap, Harry Potter, Star Wars etc etc is all pure trash but people lap it up because nowadays most people don't think for themselves. Pathetic.

Those that come to mind at the moment: Mesmer (1994) Might be worth seeing just to watch someone play a glass armonica But really there is a lot more going on than that. Doctor with a very different way of healing people. His methods come under severe scrutiny and that's putting it mildly -- his methods make me think about current day faith healers. Just an opportunity to see the late, great Alan Rickman at work. Highlander: Endgame (2000) It's not a great movie, but its a lot better than people rate it. Haven (2004), very good movie, but probably not for a casual movie viewer You need to watch it carefully and probably a couple of times to appreciate it. Its not told in a linear fashion. There are at least 4 major story lines and a points where they converge. But the story lines do not begin or end at the same time. And though I really like this movie there is either a big plot hole in one of the story lines, or a plot point that I've never been able to figure out, (but its an incentive for me to watch it again). The movie stars, Anthony Mackie, Joy Bryant, Zoe Saldana, Agnes Bruchner, Orlando Bloom and Bill Paxton. Good (2008) I find myself thinking of this movie a lot, with the political climate we are living in, in the US. Good is set in Nazi Germany and stars Viggo Mortensen. VM all by himself is an excellent reason to watch it. The movie offers a lot of food for thought. I think the title of the movie refers to the main character, and good is meant not to describe some one who is morally upright, or of good character, but good in the sense of average. The main character is the average man, who in this case makes questionable decisions (I could say more, but don't want to do spoilers, in case any one is planning to watch it).

It's fine if you enjoyed it (I enjoy many bad films) but calling it underrated just doesn't seem right. And how is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" underrated? ?? It scored an 8.1/10 on IMDB and 92% on RT and is the third highest grossing movie of all times.

TFA is overrated to the point of compelling me to go out and buy tin foil and make a hat because the conspiracy theories about the House of Mouse paying off critics seem almost like they would have to be true to account for the massive and immediate abandonment of everyone's sanity.
