i like this guy's stuff. www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/why-jake-fromm-is-georgias-starting-qb-even-when-jacob-eason-is-healthy/ Georgia has vaulted up to No. 7 in the AP Top 25, and the play of true freshman starting quarterback Jake Fromm has been a big reason why, even though it wasn't supposed to be this way.
Former 5-star stud Jacob Eason injured his knee in the first quarter of the season-opener, and is still working his way back into game shape.
"It's day-to-day," coach Kirby Smart said after Tuesday's practice. "He did do much better today, I thought. I got to see him in the 7-on-7 periods and I got to see him in some of the early periods in practice. He looks much better than he did last week. He's moved around and escaped some. Even yesterday, he took reps and a couple of times a D lineman broke through and he was able to get away, moving comfortable. So he's much closer to being able to play."
Other reports confirmed that Eason is making quick progress, based on the limited window in which media is allowed to view practice.

I don't know a lot about the SEC or Georgia but from what I've read this kid is poised and he has talent. Would that continue as the pressure mounts, who knows. They also have their 5 star about to come back and he shouldn't lose his job due to injury.

Georgia is a good football team. They should win the SEC East handily. After Eason was injured in week one, Fromm stepped in and has not only been competent, he has managed to improve in each game. He will still make Freshman mistakes but he will learn from them. The guy is poised and confident and both the offense and defense has rallied behind him. After hitting several long passes last week, Fromm showed he is a capable runner as well tonight scoring two rushing TD's.
Fromm probably can't win the SEC on his skills alone. Luckily the Dawgs have arguably the best backfield in the NCAA. People know about Nick Chubb and maybe Sony Michelle but a new name to remember is D'Andre Swift. Another true freshman, Swift has blinding quickness and has been receiving praise galore and averaging 7.3 yards a carry.
How about the defense? The Bulldogs defense has nightmare speed and their front 7 is as good as any front 7 in college football if not better. Coach Kirby Smart in year 2 has shown he did a lot more than carry Saban's clipboard while Defensive Coordinator at Alabama. Special teams? In one year Special Teams has gone from a liability to a strength in every way. The return game. Kick coverage. Kicking and punting have all been transformed almost miraculously. The entire team has bought into what Kirby Smart is preaching.
The toughest team left on Georgia's schedule is Auburn who has also looked very solid. Their matchup Nov. 11 will help determine who if either can challenge Bama for the best team in the SEC. I'm saying Georgia beats Auburn and also wins the SEC East and then we'll see.

Butch Jones's tenure has to be coming to an end. What an embarrassment.

Butch Jones's tenure has to be coming to an end. What an embarrassment. Ed Orgeron at LSU shouldn't be making any long term plans. His Wikipedia page has already been edited. "Ed Orgeron is the head football coach at Louisiana State University not for much longer after losing to Troy ..."

Butch and Ed feeling the hot seat heat but the important thing is both Kirby Smart and Offensive Coordinator Jim Chaney are suddenly looking brilliant for Georgia.
