That's just because the end credits keep getting longer and longer. Seriously end credits are like 15-20 minutes now. I remember the days when they would just put "The End" on the screen and that was it.

I'll of course be excited for The Last Jedi no matter what it's runtime, but this trend of franchise movies clocking in at 150 minutes or longer, it's just so exhausting.

They are getting more and more in contest with the new era of TV shows, and these shows have one thing movies lack so desperately: time to tell and to develop. Ben Hur, Quo Vadis, the Godfather movies or Apocalypse now etc. pp.were also long movies. The problem is that long movies can't be run that often per day and make less profit. |
