There, there. One certified sign of quality is how threatened the detractors (95% MCU fanboys) feel about WW many months after its release, and the huffy-puffy coping mechanisms they employ to deny it being a historical triumpf milestone far transcending the genre. The classics are:
- Iz not that good anyway - Iz not good cause there arse better, - Iz just good because iz like a MCU (despite WW depicting grim horrors of war & consequences, thereby having a message and character development, while the MCU counterpart had funny laser battles in WW2 and an character arc that consisted in becoming a lab BEEFCAKE! lol) - Yikes there iz a girl in my CBM, iz just famous because there are women in it! - Iz just liberals and SJW - Iz just talked about getting awards because all ze above...and the Academy are all idiots anyway, i don't take them serious sinz they will not give MCU no Oscar!
The Nile is not just a river in Egypt, fanboys. Cry the world a river, please, it will just be a drop in the ocean anyway.
And remember: the raccoon turd always floats at the shallow end of the pool...
"Iz just liberals and SJW" Which is a comment I see too much from both fandoms. It's fucking annoying too! I mean is everything supposed to be straight white males? I hope Black Panther causes their fucking heads to explode when it releases in February! dude, I'm a straight white males, we are pretty kewl - online friendship's suspended (again)! But apart from that, couldn't agree more, too many right-wing nutjobs and world-hating trash on the internet. But what else do they have, where else would someone listen? Still, they suck Trump balls.

How many of the above received a best picture Oscar nomination? Superman the Movie Spider-Man 2 The Dark Knight ...all should have.

Thank you. This thread is deeply sexist and offends my tender sensibilities.

I'm just tired of both fandoms freaking out if a gay or black character appears and act like it's the end of the world. We should embrace everyone!

Would you prefer that the studios represent those groups by creating new characters who possess those traits or ascribe them in the process of adapting preexisting characters? Or you're cool with either/both? People seem to get a lot more pissed off by the latter.

If it doesn't, than create a new character from scratch. Taking a existing character and changing it to a different race, gender or sexuality, to me honestly, is lazy and boring. Create new characters and introduce them either from the films or shows or whatever. The main counter argument that I always saw from other LGBT, especially on IMDb, was "you can't just make a new character, they won't be popular enough to sell tickets!" Yeah well that's why you bring them in as a supporting role or write them in to serve a purpose to the story in a existing character movie. For example look at Black Panther, he was introduced in Civil War and it worked out great for him!

The problem is that when you create a new character solely for the purpose of diversity, there are often complaints about how those characters not serving much of a purpose beyond diversity, so its a lose-lose scenario.

Depends on how you write the character. You can add a character for diversity and still have them serve a greater purpose other than to check a checklist. See black panther in Civil War for example. Just write them as people, no need to make them special. Joey in Agents of Shield was a great example on how to handle a gay character.

BP only got a pass because he's a classic Marvel character, if he were a NEW Black character only created now he'd get derided.
