I didn't see the upside down flag ep but just wanted to point out that an upside down American flag being flown is the universal distress signal. definitely on a ship/boat at sea but I don't see how it cant be used to quietly plead for help on land. if you're being held captive or hostage, that could save your life.

AS far as that episode is concerned, they may have edited it down to fit another extra case in. I've noticed other cases were whittled down into shorter episodes so they can fit three in (or two in, if it was originally a full episode first time it aired). The ones which have been edited have actually been butchered - they make no sense at all since a lot of info has been chopped out.

On a show last weel (September 27? 28?) there was a case where a couple was suing their neighbors (sisters) for a fence that was being put up (they wanted the sisters to pay for part of the fence).
What struck me very odd was the two sisters. They both had the same voice, which sounded "dubbed". And both sisters looked like men in drag. They were an odd couple. The plaintiffs even kept calling them 'odd' at the end of the show in the hall interview.

It was very strange - everything from the case itself to the defendants. A friend of mine had watched it as well (we didn't watch it together) and afterwards, we met for dinner. She said the same thing - the defendants looked like men in drag, and they seemed to have someone else doing 'voice overs'. Odd that both sisters had the same voice.

I used to like her but I think she's become a hack. On the few occasions when I watch, she seems to be phoning it in a lot of the time. Also, the ultra-irritability is starting to look alarmingly close to senility at times. |

Also, the ultra-irritability is starting to look alarmingly close to senility at times. Agree. She's always been very short with people, but lately, she's worse: "Shushing" people, constantly saying "Just a minute," asking a question and not allowing the person to answer, only allowing "yes" or "no" answers. I find her methods of cross-examination tedious and boring. Of course, she can appear be the "smartest person in the room" -- if she forbids anyone else to speak!  She's a bitch with ego problems.  |

If she pulled some of those antics repeatedly in a 'real-life' courtroom, I suspect she might be facing a review board--although there have been non-tv judges who got away with 'eccentricities' as bad or worse. |

I think a lot of 'not letting the person finish the answer' has more to do with sloppy editing from production. Don't forget these cases are whittled down to about twelve minutes (for commercials) or twenty minutes if it takes a full episode. I've noticed myself there's a lot of sloppy editing going on with the smallest things. |

Wow! We're a month into season 23 and all I can say is this season is quite boring. The same ol' same ol': rent money, dog bites, and car loans. And insulting the men (their intelligence, their physical appearance) but never the women.
On yesterday's show she had on a defendant who looked like she was dressed up for the emcee of the musical "Cabaret". (She was being sued for a cruise she went on). Did JJ say anything about her outlandish appearance? Nahhh. She could've said "Where did you think you were going today? To try out for clown school at the circus?" If it were a man dressed like that, she would have been all over it.
