THX 1138 is based on a short film. That's as surprising as JAMES BOND being told that he has an STD. Been ages since I've seen it. The first time I saw it as a kid I didn't retain any of the plot. Years later I watched it and thought it was OK but thought there were several places where it dragged. I have been meaning to re-watch it and try to absorb as much as possible from it. Which is how movies should be watched the first damn time.
